O inicio do Mangini no dt eu odiei muito , não me agradava aquela bateria dele . Mas depois do show at luna park , minha visao sobre o Mangini mudou . Fiquei muito feliz pela volta do Portnoy , mas muito triste pela saida do Mangini que estava no melhor momento dele no Dream . E hoje sinto a falta dele por achar que ele era o futuro do Dream e tinha muito mais a agregar no momento ao Dream theater , do quê o próprio Portnoy . Saudades mestre , obrigado por tudo 😢❤

. . . met Mike in Little Rock, AR when he played in Extreme. Such a cool guy like all the other members. Even gave tix and backstage passes to the next show so followed them to Tulsa for a repeat. So awesome!

He's ambidextrous and does many percussion-oriented embellishments that I like to do if ever I'm playing drums instead of a frontline instrument.

I wish Nick DiVirgilio had interviewed him after the tune. Mangini is such a braniac drummer, it's so highly impressive. Go watch his "A view from the top of the world" drum cam at his channel, it's mind boggling, ostinatos right off the bat, insane double bass work, rimshot consistency I've never seen before - most people don't understand how incredibly talented he is. This demonstration here in this video uses about 1% of his brain. He's a HUGE loss for DT. Geddy and Alex should give him a call.

Well, he seems to have landed on his feet. Not that that surprises me. He sounds great, it is just a little wild to see him with a normal size drum set. 🤣

Such a basic drummer. MM, keep the songs simple like this instead of the more complicated time signatures that DT has where you failed to perform.
In this simple song, you make it look like you are struggling like it’s complicated. It’s not, try to get some rhythm
