Obviously the statements in this video are extremely General and don't go into technical info such as Tire design & dynamics that require various camber alignment to optimize Tire performance.. .
ОтветитьWhat they said. Yup. Now I have a question. Nobody is talking about the effect camber has on the contact patch relative to steering pull and toe effect in combination. If I have negative camber and 0 toe on one side of the front, but positive camber and 0 toe on the other, which way does the car pull, and why? What tricks can be used in equally cambered axles, like toe adjustment, can be made to cancel the contact patch squirm/pull from camber? Meaning: With a modest amount of negative camber that cannot be adjusted (some car companies) what amount of toe is used to compensate for the contact patch deformation, if any?
I have an '04 Acura TL that my book says has fixed camber all the way around. The rear is noticeable when viewed from front or rear. Is the amount of toe I am seeing there to compensate for that camber, or is it merely to mitigate terminal oversteer? The car is pretty nimble but not nearly as much as my brother's Ford Focus. That thing is a gymnast!
Too much trouble. I think ill just keep it stock
ОтветитьFinally I can learn in an easy to understand way this stuff! Super impressive!
ОтветитьThese videos are very useful. I am designing my own suspension system for a single seater and your videos have helped a lot. Could you tell me which software you use to show the changes in the angles in bump/droop and steer? Thanks.
ОтветитьI failed geometry once and i felt guilty about it now i think it's my teacher's fault 😂
Ответитьbest explanation on the internet
ОтветитьExcellent explanation, well done 👍
Ответитьexcelent video
Ответитьpoo
ОтветитьYeah ! Great diagrams and explanations. I just went to a motorcycle meeting, and I have a background in cycling. I owned a few suspension bikes, and could not get them working properly. I previously decided to invest in a really good BMX, that's all.
But, looking at the motorcycles. It was odd to see. Large rear tyres, tyres with an odd shape, and weird orientation of the springs.
I read today motorcycles have 57 x more accidents than cars !
Yet, they're a lot cheaper. I might save money through investing in some skill hopefully.
Goat no cap 🚫🚫🧢🧢
ОтветитьThe best 'why apply camber' explaination I've had so far
ОтветитьHey I have a Clio 172 RS and it tends to understeer more with spacers.... I really don't know how it relates on an FWD small hatch, front heavy, scrub radius don't effect cornering directly does it?
ОтветитьAmazing in depth video! What software is this?
Ответитьwhat software is this?
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial.
ОтветитьCAYUGA! Thanks for a great explanation!
ОтветитьWhat is that software that you use to animate suspension?
ОтветитьI'm trying to figure out what I need to adjust to correct the steering and suspension geometry after having to add 16mm of positive offset to both wheels (the fronts needed spacers for the brake calipers and the rears came with an incorrect neutral offset and I paid too much to get them both made again!).
Ответитьdidn't you just show the same for both camber and toe!
ОтветитьI like how im watching this as im about to build a gasser with a front straight axle syspension desighn from the 1800s
ОтветитьAmazingly informative, this is helping so much with trying to build my own car!
ОтветитьStunning work on this video! Great knowledge base and graphics to demonstrate the concepts!
Ответитьmy brain hurts
ОтветитьOk so negative is usually better for anything to do with suspension
Edit: except caster :)
Where did you get the footage of the guy driving in india?
ОтветитьThis is amazing and super informative! 😍👍
Ответитьcan you do a video ( or do you know of a video ) that goes over how to setup a car ?
ex : if your car is a FR layout and has a balanced handling characteristics and you want to add more under / over steer etc ?
like how would the car react if you added more dampening to the coilovers in the front vs the rear and vice versa. ( leaving the front where its at and only adjusting the rear and vice versa vs front going full soft while going full still in rear and vice versa etc )
i cant seem to find any videos discussing this topic ( and i know it varies platform to platform ) but just in a general sense.
maybe FF vs FR vs MR vs AWD etc
like , if you did one setup change on FF layout it would be complete opposite reaction if you did same setup changes on FR etc
Its the best video that I have watched abt the suspension geometry. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьIn respect to KPI and camber, will the inside tyre gain negative camber and outside one positive? @XF Motorsports
Ответитьwhat a shame for me , i dont understand english too well to can take the meaning of the vid ,😭 , from canarias .
ОтветитьThank u so much, so we’ll explained
ОтветитьOhhh thankkkk u for splitting it into two different videos. A single video would’ve been an overwhelming amount of information
ОтветитьSuch a great video thank you !
Ответитьgood stuff really thorough.
ОтветитьGreat Wideo Ghandi 😂
ОтветитьWere you using blender to do this? Just curious.
Ответитьking-pins r still in use as is rear whell drive,so this vid is a fail...
ОтветитьComplicated engineering behind simple looking things.
ОтветитьWhat software are you using?
ОтветитьReally please actually try to spit out a VEEEEE sound. Last I checked there's no English language word that is "wertical" please try harder 🧐😐😙
ОтветитьWhy KPI induces a lifting force ?
ОтветитьAwesome explanations!
ОтветитьThis video helped so much, thank you. The shopping cart example was amazing, and I know know why more positive caster can lead to more negative camber when cornering!
Ответитьwhat is that you are using for the analysis?
Thanks in advance
Amazing video. You're incredibly knowledgeable!
