"Confused Artificial Insemination" sounds like the brainchild of someone who was told: "Find a way to increase the # of successes so I get rich or you're fired."

I know it says your 90% Celtic but before i saw the results as a Scot i had guessed your ancestry was from the Glasgow area mostly, you look exactly like a west coaster from Scotland , is there any other Scots who agree, not from anywhere else in Scotland but the west coast ( which are Irish/Scots )

My natural father left when I was a newborn and my mother remarried. The guy she remarried adopted me, and I wasn't told any of this until I was in high school in the 80s. Later on, through social media, I found out that I had two half-brothers and a half-sister from when my natural father remarried. Fast-forward to about 2020, I decided to take a DNA test (sorry for your sponsor, but it was through Ancestry). What I found out through those results is that I had yet another half-sister. She is older than me and that affair happened before even my mother and natural father were together. She had no idea who her natural father was because her mother never told her, AND he had no idea he had this daughter because the mother never told him either. The weird part is that we all live in the same small-ish city and have all of our lives- meaning we've likely came across each other over the years without realizing it. What's even weirder is my grandmother on my mother's side went through almost the same scenario, which has made studying my family tree interesting. MORAL OF THE STORY: don't lie to your kids- you never know what kind of accessible technology will be available to them in the future!

Makes me quite curious about my family history. I know my grandfather was adopted but he also fought in the Vietnam war so I may have family out there I dont know about. Is one DNA testing company better for medical testing than another company,if so which one would you recommend. I want to find out what may be in my medical history since I've got a undiagnosed medical condition and maybe finding out family history could help. Any recommendations welcome thanks

I really had no big surprises since I am lucky enough to have a paper trail for almost all of my immigrant ancestors including those who arrived in the 1600's. Both my parents had some English, Scottish, and German and my mom also had some Dutch, Flemish, and Irish. The most interesting thing about my results is that, even though I am a mix on both sides and the paper trail puts me at about 33% German, I am 57% Scottish and only 15% German. No wonder I always related to the Celtic peoples the most.

I'm glad you discovered your true heritage. It's an eye opening experience, for sure. I am of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. I am about as full blooded as one can be in this day and age. I was also adopted. My adoptive parents weren't Native though. They were White. My parents kept me far away from my Arapaho culture as they could and I resent that very much. My birth father and birth mother were from prominent families on the Wind River Reservation. My father did 3 tours in Viet Nam. He was a Marine. My birth mother became terminally ill with TB and was in a sanitarium in Billings, MT. She ultimately died in a car crash, which was probably more merciful than dying of TB. My father was a player. I had one full brother. His name was Kenny and I named my son after him. My brother, Kenny was the oldest of all my dad's kids. When he died I became the oldest. Next in line of age is my half sister, who is 4 months younger than me. Again, my dad was a player, and it's likely that I have some half siblings in Southteast Asia. My wife got me a DNA kit for my birthday a few years ago. I've always had a love of Scottish, Irish and Jewish cultures, so I was hoping it would come back with at least one of those. It did not. It came back that I am 47% Peruvian, 30% Mexican with a smattering of other DNA from around the world. There was a little Chinese, Latvian, Sub-Saharan African but no Native blood at all. I contacted the company that did the test and they said that it was likely that my results were all wrong because they don't have any Native DNA in their database and until they do, my results would continue to be inconclusive. Anyway, I'm glad you're back. I look forward to all your episodes. If you're ever in Wyoming let me know. Lunch is on me.
