You know what changed Glasgow for the better, was the Rave Scene, the House and Techno Music of the late 80's and early 90's, that started off as big events but eventually after the Criminal Justice Bill found it's way into all the City Centre Nightclubs. Prior to that Glasgow nightclubs were drunken pick-up joints, that you could easily get into bother in. They were also not safe for young women to enter on their own. All that has changed and Glasgow is now a city of 'huggers' as that has become the accepted way that you greet or say goodbye to your mates, male or female. We also, on getting off a bus always thank the driver, which was not something that was taught us by our parents, it was just something that people started to do in the 80's. Glasgow is as good as the energy you walk through life with and we can all screw up from time to time, but as you get a bit older you learn from your mistakes. By the way, as much as Glasgow City Council did it's best to curtail peoples enjoyment by not granting licenses to or allowing later openings in City Centre Establishments, Glasgow still has many Pubs and Clubs and a really good music scene, especially Dance Music and it's not unusual for these places to be frequented by folk in their late 50's and early 60's as Glaswegians love a good dance!
