I learnt to knit when I was very young but I learnt from watching my mother so I knit back to front… I’ve never been able to figure out how to do it properly! I learnt crochet when I was about six and I’ve always found it easier, especially since it’s customary to always make at least one mistake or your soul will be trapped. As good an excuse as any I think!

Hiii :) love to see people getting into knitting! You may have already received this feedback elsewhere, but knitting on such large needles is actually more difficult and in addition creates projects that aren’t durable. Try a 6 (chunky) yarn.

I think you may be twisting your stitches, which makes them a bit tighter to work and gives the fabric a bias. Hard to tell for sure from the video but I think your stitches look mis-mounted to me. If your stockinette stitches look like a shawl neck on a sweater, with one side going over top of the other side, instead of even Vs thats how you know. Good luck on your knitting journey!
