interesting the choice of using a Fletcher class for this, the Fletcher's were pretty rare for Convoy Duty as they were complete overkill for the task because they were actual Fleet Destroyers designed to go toe-to-toe with the Japanese navy. an Evart's class or PC-461 would be much more accurate
ОтветитьI remember seeing the demo for this and hearing the developer talk about his love of destroyers. Gotta say I want to join this stress-fest...
ОтветитьHaving actual "Miss" and "Hit" messages come up was probably the smartest decision they made in this game. Too many times you'd think "Hey, I hit that guy!" when it was actually a miss. Made it seem like submarines were tanking a dozen depth charges.
ОтветитьMy grandfather served aboard two such Flower-class corvettes. He spent over two years at sea, defending convoys and winning the Battle of the Atlantic. Lovely to see them here.
ОтветитьDamn, getting assigned to a Fletcher class for your first commission must have been like winning the lottery at the time.
ОтветитьOne thing I'm noticing in these videos is that you are keeping your ship's speed way too fast on the attack run, and consistently dropping late as a result. That one attack at 18 minutes I was thinking 'what are you doing?' as I watched you turn AWAY from the submarine, then race in front of him to drop depth charges some 200 yards away from him, instead of following him right up his track to hit him...
Ответитьgreat
Ответитьgreat video series.
ОтветитьFLASHBACK! ..
My Boat 1969 - 71
USS Purdy (DD-734)
Excellent new series!
ОтветитьDamn good show mate!!!
ОтветитьMan I wish the game had coop and you could walk around the ship like wolfpack, maybe one day
ОтветитьSH4 intro music 😮 Now that's a blast from the past!
ОтветитьUSS Janssen isn't a Fletcher class destroyer, Janssen is a Edsall Class destroyer escort
ОтветитьScreaming for VR!
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this one, Well done. Also the speed at which you reacted to the conditions; using your instruments and chart plotting, while simultaneously giving orders to your airsupport and processing the information from your crew, Was very impressive.
ОтветитьWow, I need to play this game. I could command a ship that has my name in it lmao
Ответить🫡
ОтветитьAnd so ends 'the Happy Time' for the wolf packs.
ОтветитьYay new series!
Ответитьlove the music in the starting cutscene... brings back memories of Silent Hunter 4
ОтветитьI'd love to see this game expand with options for more than just a fletcher class in the Atlantic. Imagine how awesome it would be to be part of Taffy 3 during the battle of Leyte Gulf.
ОтветитьThis is very much a step in the right direction, congrats to the devs.
ОтветитьLove your videos mate, how you make it like a story... I'm 60 and i love these games, but find im too busy to invest time in them and play them well, so its very enjoyable watching other people play who know what they're doing. Good work.
ОтветитьIs this primarily a game with mostly American ships vs U-Boats or is the Royal Navy in it aswell, because the Battle Of The Atlantic was also a Royal Navy Battle/Campaign for us Brits aswell as the canadians too
ОтветитьHell yea, lets go Wolf, the Pack is ready!
ОтветитьThank you good sir for an excellent content. Please, proceed with this career! :)
ОтветитьHope that this game gets the flower class at some point
ОтветитьWhy does the sonar work at 25kts? AFAIK those became useless at 15 ...
ОтветитьA great run as always Captain!
ОтветитьI dont know what half of this stuff is but loved your other vids and decided to come check it out interesting to say the least.
ОтветитьI mean this wholeheartedly, if ypu were my captain in ww2, id have been a happy sailor.
ОтветитьThis is amazing
ОтветитьHave you played through Silent Hunter IV, the one where you are Americans in the Pacific?
Ответитьim a simple man. i see wolfpack345, i click
Ответить谢谢!
ОтветитьThis looks fantastic, can’t wait for the next one
ОтветитьNot sure if its simulated but wouldn't be surprised; Might be worth reading up on the Williamson maneuver which allows you to return to your reciprocal course. Put the helm over opposite to your final turn to move the pivot point of the vessel aft...when the vessel is 60 degrees off your initial course put the helm hard over to the opposite side. Midships rudder when approx 20 deg off final course more or less depending on rate of turn. You will be on the same track but in reverse. Its a maneuver usually used for recovering people from the sea and was used during world war two. Keep up the content.
ОтветитьThe crew running around looks really funky but all in all looks like a great game so far
ОтветитьLove your gameplay. Think you’ll ever go back to cold waters those are one of my favorite series from you. Nonetheless love the videos man keep it up
ОтветитьNot UBoat or IL 2, but I like those series. I'll probably like this one, too.
ОтветитьOhhh the reverse scenario! Love it. Normally I'm all about the UBoat but now, crack those shells! 😁
ОтветитьSuper excited for the new campaign
ОтветитьI recently watched Greyhound, so this is a fitting series to start! Good hunting!
ОтветитьHey man. Love your Channel. Regarding War on the sea. There is a new Mod that has a completely new ai (Not just some changes like in TTE) and has a bunch of new stuff. It is called Total war. I think that it would be a challenge for you because you need to plan your steps carefully if you want to survive and maybe even win. Give it a try it is worth it. I would love to see your ships sinking if you do a playthrough.
ОтветитьThat stupid alarm sound! It’s the same as the “incoming” warning in Iraq/afghanistan. Still gets my heart rate up when I hear it.
ОтветитьWhy does everyone mispronounce Newfoundland
ОтветитьWell this is fun as I’m also currently watching your SH3 type IX career from a few years ago we’re you’re the Uboat terrorizing that area!
ОтветитьAre there neutral ships in this game or is everything that you encounter belonging to either the Allies or Axis?
ОтветитьI’ve really been wanting to see this on the channel ever since you did your first couple videos of this game. I’d really love to see more of this.
