interesting the choice of using a Fletcher class for this, the Fletcher's were pretty rare for Convoy Duty as they were complete overkill for the task because they were actual Fleet Destroyers designed to go toe-to-toe with the Japanese navy. an Evart's class or PC-461 would be much more accurate

I remember seeing the demo for this and hearing the developer talk about his love of destroyers. Gotta say I want to join this stress-fest...

Having actual "Miss" and "Hit" messages come up was probably the smartest decision they made in this game. Too many times you'd think "Hey, I hit that guy!" when it was actually a miss. Made it seem like submarines were tanking a dozen depth charges.

My grandfather served aboard two such Flower-class corvettes. He spent over two years at sea, defending convoys and winning the Battle of the Atlantic. Lovely to see them here.

Damn, getting assigned to a Fletcher class for your first commission must have been like winning the lottery at the time.

One thing I'm noticing in these videos is that you are keeping your ship's speed way too fast on the attack run, and consistently dropping late as a result. That one attack at 18 minutes I was thinking 'what are you doing?' as I watched you turn AWAY from the submarine, then race in front of him to drop depth charges some 200 yards away from him, instead of following him right up his track to hit him...

I'd love to see this game expand with options for more than just a fletcher class in the Atlantic. Imagine how awesome it would be to be part of Taffy 3 during the battle of Leyte Gulf.

Love your videos mate, how you make it like a story... I'm 60 and i love these games, but find im too busy to invest time in them and play them well, so its very enjoyable watching other people play who know what they're doing. Good work.

Is this primarily a game with mostly American ships vs U-Boats or is the Royal Navy in it aswell, because the Battle Of The Atlantic was also a Royal Navy Battle/Campaign for us Brits aswell as the canadians too

Not sure if its simulated but wouldn't be surprised; Might be worth reading up on the Williamson maneuver which allows you to return to your reciprocal course. Put the helm over opposite to your final turn to move the pivot point of the vessel aft...when the vessel is 60 degrees off your initial course put the helm hard over to the opposite side. Midships rudder when approx 20 deg off final course more or less depending on rate of turn. You will be on the same track but in reverse. Its a maneuver usually used for recovering people from the sea and was used during world war two. Keep up the content.

The crew running around looks really funky but all in all looks like a great game so far

Hey man. Love your Channel. Regarding War on the sea. There is a new Mod that has a completely new ai (Not just some changes like in TTE) and has a bunch of new stuff. It is called Total war. I think that it would be a challenge for you because you need to plan your steps carefully if you want to survive and maybe even win. Give it a try it is worth it. I would love to see your ships sinking if you do a playthrough.
