ОтветитьThere are 2 good ways to learn to do that knot. there is the way that you show and there's also the way you tie it if you were using as a rescue knot for yourself but you can do one-handed
Ответитьshow us one handed around the back
ОтветитьLol, crap😂
Ответить❤
ОтветитьMan, training to go to RIP at Ft Ord and we had to learn this one and about 6 more. The course kicked my ass but was great
ОтветитьNavy knots are better.
Ответитьmy dad was in the military and says he never used this knot
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьDoing the lords work, thank you for your service.
ОтветитьThey be messing with you. I be catching it and dying laughing. Good Videos.
ОтветитьThank you, I all to often use a half hitch twice for the same affect but it is not as smooth (it can be painfully un-smooth) and I knew there was a better way I just hadn't taken the time to note it. It may seem silly to not know this knot but I greatly appreciate it being shown.
ОтветитьAnd you got your "GO" in Lower Mountaineering. Hooah.
ОтветитьSuch a knotty video
ОтветитьBest knot: tie a lot
ОтветитьDude this is not some secret magical know
It’s just a bowline knot
You are the first person I've seen teach the not from the back. I was really confused at first.
ОтветитьThank you John even though I am a hardcore atheist god bless you I realized a long time ago you don't even read this post but that's cool you're true-blue American Badass thank you for your service and your sacrifice sir I heard you one time say not to thank you for your service and you heard me I don't want to hear about God because all those people on 9/11 never heard from him all those people praying and nobody got up out of their goddamn seat to make a difference God is here when you show up
ОтветитьWe need more videos like this during the quarantine.
ОтветитьI was a boy scout. It was the first night I learned. I'm glad I saw this video cuz I had forgotten it. Thanks again, sir.
ОтветитьSimply brilliant
ОтветитьEver considered pairing w/Survival Straps or similar supplier for Warrior Poet Society paracord bracelets, lanyards, keychain, etc.?
ОтветитьFirst the hair, now the knots you could have been a Seal😂😂😂
ОтветитьRemember Dennis the menace when he tied that guy up?
ОтветитьSLTW, AATW
ОтветитьWe use this knot on Boats also
ОтветитьBecause Marines blaze the path! What knife is that? I've seen it before on trigger time TV I think.
ОтветитьAs a climber I've been a bit of knot nerd historically. I can strongly recommend Grog's Animated Knots website or application for iOS/Android. The issue with a bowline if you don't mouse it (Yosemite tie off, double stopper/overhand knot or similar) is that it can can drop out when not loaded. It's great advantage over knots like a figure of 8 is that it won't cinch tight and is invaluable for uses where this is of detriment. I have no relationship with Grog other than to badger him into doing an Android version (2009 ish) as many of my Mountain Rescue colleagues were Android users (though looking at current download numbers I suspect he's pleased he did).
ОтветитьAh yes, the venerable 550 paracord. My favorite stuff. I even use it for shoe and boot laces and I always keep a couple hundred feet on hand for lots of stuff. Love it!
ОтветитьSomething to keep you occupied while the Marines are clearing a path ... For you to "lead the way"
ОтветитьI often tie a bowline knot with a Yosemite finish nowadays. If done properly it makes the knot more elegant and secure, and may be preferable to the overhand tie-off for some uses. Knot junkies will likely be interested in this one.
ОтветитьVery well done intro--HA!
ОтветитьThank you John.
ОтветитьShort and to the point is good. Uses might knot be a bad idea. I go camping with three knots. This is knot one of them.
ОтветитьNice Bowline
ОтветитьIf you're worried about the loose end, double bowline.
ОтветитьBowline, square knot, and taut-line hitch. 3 knots I still remember from Boy Scouts, and those three have been miracles!
ОтветитьShe loves me... she loves me knot...
ОтветитьRangers lead the way! Marines blaze the path.😁
Ответитьlearned it in boy scouts
ОтветитьIts March 25th 2018 we are not far away from losing great sites like this and his other posts. Tell your elected officials this is wrong for how a public business that offers access to the people, should be ran. We are a nation established on free enterprise not omission enterprise. Fact is,.... its just bull pile.
Ответитьthe bowline is an awesome knot, it doesn't slip and you can put a tremendous amount of tension on it and usually it can be easily untied
ОтветитьIn basic training at Sand Hill my platoon had 50-50 fireguard one night and had to tie 1,000 bowline knots to the Drill Sergeants approval. Good Times
ОтветитьSAPPER ,sorry it just Look before you slipped out.
ОтветитьYay for that!
ОтветитьAbsolutely the one knot everyone needs to know how to tie with eyes closed in the dark. It's that versatile and important.
ОтветитьOff topic, but what optic is in that BCM rifle?
ОтветитьJohn, your hat is too small :D
Very nice video though. Thanks.
Rabbit up the hole around the tree and back down the hole. I learned that when I was a kidd. This is a great knot to use , I use it often, especially when pulling something with my truck. The knot is easily untied no matter how much weight is being pulled.
Thanks for all your videos there much enjoyed.
