Fantastic Vid!!
ОтветитьGreat work as usual!
ОтветитьI-405 through the OC is super sexy. I don't know what it is, but the concrete, the nice green scenery, the beautiful HOV lane, and the 10 lane Goodness make for a sexy freeway.
ОтветитьI know firsthand how dreadful the 405 can be (this stretch in particular)
ОтветитьIt looks like you used the peak month volumes. The average 2007 volume for I-405 @ Seal Beach was 397,000 AADT. Still mindboggling though.
Ответить@ ScrewdUPClickV2 Early sunday mornings is the best time to record an urban freeway such as L.A./ Orange county. Saturday morning would be 2nd best. Weekdays forget about it! :)
ОтветитьWhere do you get all this information about freeways and the number of vehicules a day?
ОтветитьWord. I was just there, 30 minutes ago, to pick up some Wendy's, ahahaha.
Ответитьthanks for all the facts!
ОтветитьEvery video I see of California makes me wish I was there instead of Chattanooga The CA-55 Interchange is jaw dropping with traffic merging on both sides. BTW any plans on doing I-605?
ОтветитьWow, the freeways I see almost every day yet this video was so... "enjoyable" haha, It was definitely the speed and lack of traffic, therapeutic as HELL haha love it!
Ответитьthis must be on a saturday cause during the week this fwy is hella crazy.. cool vid btw
Ответитьthnk u for all video. im nt looking google s.view :)
ОтветитьTry doing I-78 east in New Jersey from Exit 3 to Exit 58 in Newark which is I-95 NJ turnpike
ОтветитьI'm gonna make a few trips from San Diego to San Francisco and back in the coming weeks and I know that I would have to pass through the conjested LA area, so which freeway do you think would be better and faster to go through LA, the 5 or the 405 freeways? I heard that the 405 was supposed to be a bypass route to the 5, so I'm guessing that the 405 is better since it's newer?
Ответитьthey are doing work for HOV flyover lanes from the 605 to the 405 and 22. the 22 west 7th st bridge is gone and now is re-built for the widening. the seal beach bridge is coming down soon. the valley view overpass is almost done.
ОтветитьDespite anyone that knows traffic in LA metro, I must marvel at the labor used to make all these concrete spider webs given the vastness of this city. Despite it's use and their inadequate capacity, it's amazing in and of itself that we created all this sixty years ago is truly a technolgical wonder pertaining to highway networks.
Ответитьoh yes oh yes
ОтветитьI've driven this freeway thousands of times, yet I still find this video fascinating!
ОтветитьI just sent you a video of I-5 in North OC in your message inbox. It's MUCH BETTER edited than this video. I plan on deleting this and uploading a much improved version of this I-405 video in the coming months.
Ответитьme to :)
ОтветитьMy house was to the right of the bridge at 1:45 and i used to walk across it so get to my school! We used to stand up there and get deisel trucks to honk at us.
ОтветитьAs for the widest freeway in California(really the united States) the Sorrento Merge in San Diego concerning the 5 freeway and its junction with the 805 and 56 is around 26 lanes wide too. I was in southern California driving from LA to SD in march and the traffic around the Seal beach junction/merge is friggin legendary. On the OC 405 i was in stop and go pretty much from Seal Beach to just past the airport/west side of irvine
ОтветитьSometimes I cant believe the stretch in orange county is more congested than the legendary sepulveda pass bottleneck on the westside. drove thru that too and its a bitch
ОтветитьGreat Video!!! Do you have plans on making a video on I-605?
ОтветитьMoving to the OC in 6 days and this is going to be my commute. I wish it would move this fast always.
Ответитьdoes anyone else make car noises while watching these vids? :D
Ответитьprobably useless now, but to go from San Diego to San Fran, you can bypass most of LA by taking the 15 to the 210 to the 5, take the 5 to Tracy, CA and 580 to the bay area
ОтветитьCa 55
ОтветитьThank you for this !!! Im stuck overseas last couple years, and that was my commute every day, san clemente to long beach memorial .... i felt like i was home for lil bit ... 🥰
ОтветитьLast time when we are in i 405 freeway between ca 73 and around i 605 there is a heavy construction, but why?
ОтветитьNow there’s construction along that whole way now for a big project
ОтветитьReally brings back memories as so little has changed with the actual freeway. It is amazing when you think that all this shown doesn't even touch Los Angeles County (the main city) yet. I took the freeways for granted growing up there in the 60's and 70's. I currently live in Florida and only now is Miami metro even coming close to that level of infrastructure from when I left in 1981.
