I wish I'd had a clear vision of what I wanted to do when I was young. My mum did nothing to encourage any sort of career for me, she assumed I'd be a stay at home mum popping out kids, she focussed all her energy and money on giving my brother a good education because "he would be a breadwinner" and I was just to be a brood mare. I decided to be a secretary because she was, and back then I had zero ambition career wise. I remember the forces portacabins coming to school but still wasn't inspired. It's one of my biggest life regrets. However since then I've not married, had zero kids, and have had a pretty cool life - I got my aviation fix by wingwalking on a Stearman and flying in a B17 bomber and this past June, a Lancaster Bomber in Canada. If I could live my life again I'd either joun the Navy and work on an aircraft carrier, or try my damndest to be a pilot. Parents don't realise just how much they can influence your life :(
