Veteran Responds After Customer Screams About His Service Dog in Restaurant

To claim racism when none of her childish rant mentioned anything close to it is ridicilous. I really hope she isnt with someone. If so, R.I.P. him/her.

I mean its not a big deal having the dog in restaurant. I don't understand though how having the dog as a security blanket helps with PTSD.....u can only be around groups of people and in public if you have an animal with you?
Idk I have PTSD an I have to deal with it same amount regardless of if I'm alone, with friends, or in a dog park.....idk I guess mine is the less traumatic kind an it does probably beat self medicating

I used to work in the security department of a resort. My shift ran from 10pm to 6am. Around 11:30pm a woman showed up at the front desk and asked me to have a dog removed from her floor. I did some checking and found out the dog was a service dog to a women who had some medical requirements. I explained to the woman that the dog had every right to be there just like she had every right to be there.The resort was booked solid for that weekend so I couldn't move her to a different room. She insisted that the dog be removed and wanted to talk with my boss. My boss was at home sleeping so I gave her his card with my contact info on the back and told her that he arrives on property around 5:30am. She could talk with him then. That wasn't good enough for her so I gave some choices, she could forget about the dog and leave well enough alone or I could give her directions to the nearest Holiday Inn. I told her that the dog wasn't going anywhere. The women checked out in the morning after getting the same answer from my boss who was the VP of resort operations.

I am all about a service dog.

She screamed that she was leaving because of the dog and the nasty food. Out she went and back in again. If racial slurs had been directed at her she would have been really screaming blue murder about that for sure but not a peep on that score. She has shown she is a liar as well as insensitive and self entitled.

Of course. It’s ALWAYS about race! Even when no “racism” exists black people will fabricate it. It’s like it’s their go-to argument. The dog deserves way more respect than the hole with teeth.

I do get a bit irked when I see people bring their "Therapy Animals" to to a restaurant, bus, or post office. Non labeled Animals such as a: chihuahua/ pit bull/ parrot (obviously their Pets)
But that aside, This service dog is clearly marked and labeled as' PTSD Service Dog' and is behaving a lot better than this Lady. In fact, maybe she is the one who needs therapy.

The restaurant needs to refuse to serve her and criminally trespass her.

Personally, I am fed up with people using all kinds of excuses to bring animals into restaurants and food stores. And I share her disgust at having a strange animal breathing on my food. But there is no excuse for her behavior. Her choices were 1) complain to the manager and/or 2) leave.

you can obviously think it's gross to have an animal in a restaurant but considering that is a service dog who will probably stay as far away from anything that lady is eating.... I would not be too worried.... but causing such a scene- just childish...
