The niners capitalized on the lions mistakes, it happens in most games .
Know one knows what the outcome would have been had they tried for the fg, you dont know when ot never happened.

Looking at who is hating on Purdy, Im starting to get the feeling that the reason he’s getting so much crap is because he’s a smaller sized whiteboy. Against the likes of guys who are getting tons of praise. Love, Stroud, Lamar, Mahomes. Yeah I said it. Besides, Nick Wright, look at his haters, Stephen A, Canty, Bart, Cam, Ryan Clark, Woody, Spears, Shady, James Jones, Shannon, Keyshawn... whats the similarities? C’mon now. Lets get real.

This is the difference between Stafford and Goff; Stafford falls behind the Niners in the NFCCG then leads a 4th quarter comeback. Goff is given a huge lead over the Niners in the NFCCG and fails to close the deal.

I said the same thing ! Thank you Dan Campbell . It would have been harder for my 49ers to come back and demoralizing from 27-7 or even 30-14 . But thank to Dan for the SB gift . But if this would have been Kyle I probably will want him fire ! Anyways thank you lions #1 fan for showing the bird to people and your DB for celebrating prematurely my 49ers are in the SB again! Go niners !!!!😊

The coach lost this game for the Lions, period. There are always mistakes made on both sides if the ball by players, but when the coach chooses to take ridiculous and totally unnecessary chances on 4th downs, this is what happens. Why would you do something so stupid, not once, but twice? This loss is on Dan Campbell, no one else.

I will go to my grave with the belief that Dan Campbell and the FORDS deliberately sabotaged their own team for $$$. I can't prove it, but I definitely believe it. No professional coach or coaches would ever make such a mental mistake on an elementary decision like kicking field goals whenever they come available, especially in a game of this magnitude, unless their were instructed to do so.

no sorry. campbell lost that game. and doesnt mean he is a bad coach just becasue he lose the game likewise doesnt mean he didnt lost that game. it was all his fault. doesnt mean I dont think he is a good coach. sometimes it is the coaches fault and this game was just that. his 2 decisions cost them momentum and being ahead 3 scores. sorry but even campbell will admit this by next year becaseu he knows he blew it for himself too, when he had it in their hands. hard lessons in life. lions should have been in super bowl but history will not write it this way. THEY are the better team. coach just made terrible calls. he had the game almost wrapped up, so he wanted a touchdown, 7 points, instead lost two field goals 6 points. 6 is just as good as 7. take the field goals, get 6 points instead of 7. too late.

A professional coach should not have a learning curve on game calling........by the time they take reigns they should have ran a few programs. This is why hiring position coaches is dangerous (looking at you New England).

Dan Campbell lost the game period. He kicks the fg in the third quarter they are up 17 and.notjing has changed. You kick.it.off and the 49ers have a long drive to get within two scores again. The clock is then against you even more. Bosa said it after the game. The fourth down stop gave them hope. Then after that you double and triple down. Campbell is just a bad.gambler. You let him beat himself.

Going for it on fourth down against the Falcons is one thing, as well as you're doing it on the fifty yard line, but to take points off the board against a stacked team like the Niners is not smart. First kick could have been a three possession lead; second one could have the game tied at the end. Both non conversions gave the Niners huge momentum. Not the smart choice

Bad attitudes on Lions team. Cj lays a blindside shot on Deebo; also taunts the opposing team's fans well before the game is over. Well we've seen this stuff before and guys like Cj eventually end up in an orange jumpsuit – maybe from a manslaughter conviction resulting from DUI, or for beating a girlfriend. Look at Ruggs, Hernandez, Ray Rice, Kareem Hunt. What Losers. Lions should cut his sorry behind before his attitude infects the team. Can't be real winners with head like that. And maybe he already infected his team - because after that the Lions fell apart big time.

This is not the regular season. If you lose there is no next week. In a playoff game points and field position are paramount. Brandon Staley was fired because he never figured out he had a kicker and punter on his team.

The offensive game plan for the 49ers should be to establish the run early on to open up the passing game and to keep on running the ball after that. Why not as the Niners have the best running back in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey? Considering Brock Purdy rushed for 48 yards against the Lions who have one of the top rated run defenses in the NFL adds another dimension to the Niners run game. And this is crucial as the teams that beat the Chiefs this season did so by running the ball, exposing the Chief's weak run defense.

First game of the season for Kansas City was against the Lions who rushed the ball 34 times including 21 carries by Montgomery, leading to a 21-20 upset of the Chiefs.

Midway through the season, the Chiefs faced the Broncos who rushed the ball a whopping 40 times for 153 yards, which isn't bad for a Broncos team without an elite RB, which led to a 24-9 upset blowout of KC.

A couple of games later, the Chiefs faced the Eagles who rushed the ball 27 times which led to 3 rushing TDs, enough to beat the Chiefs 21-17.

A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced a Packer team that rushed the ball 25 times, which is a lot considering they are predominantly a passing team. The Packers upset the Chiefs 27-19.

The following week, the Chiefs played the Bills who rushed the ball 28 times despite Josh Allen having 42 passing attempts. The Bills defeated the Chiefs at KC, 20-17.

A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced the Raiders who ran the ball 29 times for 157 yards. Not bad for a team without a good RB. The Raiders beat the Chiefs at KC, 20-14.

What cannot be overstated is the Chiefs up the ante and take it to another level during the postseason, yet the same rule still applies.

In the AFC Wild Card Round, the Chiefs faced the Dolphins who rushed the ball 18 times for 76 yards, with Pro Bowl starting RB Raheem Mosert only carrying the ball 8 times. As a result, the Dolphins suffered a blowout loss to KC by a score of 26-7.

In the AFC Divisional Round, the Chiefs faced the Bills who rushed the ball 39 times for 182 yards and nearly beat the Chiefs, losing 27-24 after a missed field goal late in the game.

In the AFC Championship, the Chiefs faced the Ravens who rushed the ball 16 times, of which RBs carried the ball just 6 times for a measly 23 yards. It's no surprise the Ravens were held scoreless from 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter to near the end of the 4th quarter.

After establishing the run, the 49ers offensive line needs to give Brock Purdy adequate protection on passing plays so he will have time to throw to his receiver targets Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle and Jennings. Bang! Bang! Niner Gang! Niners!!!

No Rex. What “trying to put the game away” showed was a lack of confidence. If he takes the first field goal, he demonstrates confidence that his defense can stop the 9ers and that his offense can continue to step up. Instead in desperation, with a big lead, he refuses to take the three… because he does not n=believe it will be enough. Then later in the game, he FOES IT AGAIN. And does so at a moment where he needs to stop the bleeding. There’s nothing like putting points on the board to do that.

And those six points that he left on the field? They would have, to bore your thinking, PUT THE GAME AWAY. Instead of *trying* to put the game away, he would have in reality put the game away. Instead, he handed the game, and the conference championship, to the Niners.
