ОтветитьOne of the best riders ever and nobody will better his records
ОтветитьJoey Dunlop was killed in 2000 at the Kalevi Grand Prix in Tallinn, racing against a tree in the last corner of the Pirita-Kose-Kloostrimets circuit on a wet and slippery road, as a result of which he also died immediately [2]. He was in third position in the 125 cm³ machine class, driven by Hanno Velt and Lembit Teesalu. It is possible that he wanted to improve his position and was wrong. The road was broken in this bend, otherwise the champion would hardly have been lost. A quarter of an hour earlier, Dunlop had won the superbike race. Before the second start, it started to rain, then the motorcycles had rain tires. As an experienced racer, Dunlop changed a rain tire on the front of his "barrel", but not the rear. This decision could be fatal for him. In the second lap of the race, the rain intensified, and when Kose was racing from the corner to the starting straight, his fast and light Honda lost contact with the road in the water flowing over the track and drove off the track.
Dunlop crashed into the pine trees growing on the side of the track and the death of the motorcycle legend was instantaneous. The red Honda motorcycle broke in half while flying into the trees
The website of the Estonian government paid tribute to Dunlop on the same day. In Ireland, 50,000 mourners accompanied Dunlop on his final journey across the British Isles. Northern Ireland television broadcast the funeral live. The funeral service was held at Garryduff Presbyterian Church and Dunlop is also buried in the garden of this church.
A year later, before Kalevi's 40th Grand Prix, a Dunlop memorial stone was opened in the last corner of the Pirita-Kose-Kloostrimets circuit.
I think Michael will beat his record but it’s more about the man he was…… the man! And always will be No 1
Ответить23 years today……. What a loss to our sport and to his family, we will never forget you Joey ❤

ОтветитьSimply the greatest ever #3
ОтветитьTheir hasn't been or will never be another rider like Joey Dunlop .
ОтветитьHe'd be 70 this year. I don't care what anyone says, we will never see his like again. Born to race the roads. Humble and not seeking fame, he was the smoothest , most consistent rider ever. Talent beyond words, and a true gentleman.
ОтветитьHe was just such an operator......his eyes told it all......it was all out or no out with him....it's just hard to imagine he's actually gone .....
ОтветитьCan anyone tell me of another multi world champion who would load a van with supplies and drive from Northern Ireland to Romania to give to orphan children, imo not only the greatest pure road racer but just a good decent human being.
ОтветитьO maior de todos os pilotos de moto . O REI DAS PISTAS .
ОтветитьI currently own a really good condition with all its original parts ...a HRC Honda VTR 1000 SP1 24,000kms on it . Ride only on weekend never in rain or travelling in city traffic its kept kept in garage uncovers . I’m thinking it’s worth something now ?
ОтветитьJoe Dunlop, what a guy. He's still talked about all over the world, I was talking to an old buddy of mine at Road America back in June and Joe's name cropped up. Boy you sure didn't ever know how many lives you touched and continue to influence. RIP 3

ОтветитьThe G.O.A.T
ОтветитьMagnifico!!!
ОтветитьI play Suzuki TT Superbikes in my old PS2 and I'm gonna use Honda VTR 1000 SP1 in Formula 1 TT race because of Joey. It's gonna be tough against younger and more powerful bikes but it should be fun lol just a little tribute to the King of Road.
ОтветитьSei il primo di sempre rimarrai x sempre nei nostri cuori, non verrai mai dimenticato.
Ответить1.06min-1.09min dressing his own pistons. What a legend
ОтветитьJoey and Steve Hislop, my two favourite Racers, both Gentlemen in the paddock and away from.
ОтветитьJoey Dunlop is king the road
ОтветитьDOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE PRIZE FOR THE WINNER OF THIS RACE ???
ОтветитьThe best
ОтветитьJoey will never be surpassed. There has been many one off road racers including a favourite of mine David Jefferies he set the new style for the TT he was unbelieveable on the R1 and Gsxr 1000 immense ability but Joey was a one off there will never be another like him again. Fixing his own bikes driving to meetings and being humble. As goes for DJ he was also one off and legendary two of the best there ever was or will be no matter what RIP JOEY AND DAVID
ОтветитьLegend doesn't quite get ot
