I liked his tone with everything except the tube screamer

Big fan, watched him during COVID at a drive thru. I don't know about the brown Twin he refers to as far as taking out the transformer...maybe a blonde one? But why take out the transformer from a rare amp?

I always thought Marcus was short for some reason... then I seen how small that strat looked when he picked it up 😂😂

got an email from a mate in indiana "y'gotta check out the marcus king band - he and the band are fantastic". he let me know cos he heard they were town (melbourne) and i hotfooted it to book tickets - and saw the band last night. WOW... what a gig!

Saw him in Byron Bay Bluesfest (Australia) last Saturday. Kingfish was there, Eric Gales was there, Buddy Guy the legend (now 86) was there, and so was Joe Bonamassa; among other great players. It was a night full of great music. It was fun!!!

Nice. Marcus is super talented. That LP Custom looks and sounds killer. I wish John would have asked Marcus more questions about the guitar: where did he find that 58 body, why a replacement neck was needed, which pickups are now mounted, why he decided to move the strap button to the back...I would have used the entire episode only this guitar, ah, ah.

"Do you use the Varitone at all? No, it looks cool though." lol Best comment I ever heard about those Varitones is that one position sounds like the guitar, one position sounds like BB King, and the other four positions sound like sheet!

To those that have yet to see Marcus Kings live you need to. The man absolutely shreds. From the MKB to his solo stuff. Him and his band melt your brain every time!

He plays fantastic. But the tone here is really bad.

Literally SRV 2.0. His demeanor, humbleness, insane guitar chops, soulful voice and killer song writing hasn't been seen since we lost Stevie. One of the best musicians alive right now and he's young. Looking forward to decades of Marcus King

This guy is really knowledgeable usually but he's like theres no 60 cycle hum meanwhile the that is humming and fizzing like a motherfucka.

I love the fact that he wanted to call it MK Ultra. Dark history addressed with dark humor. “Still got the hieroglyphics on there man” made me laugh out loud. Never understood that stuff on oranges. This dude is old school down to earth.
