doesn't look like a tiny burger at all 😢
ОтветитьThat’s the same grip I used on my 12-6 curve growing up. It was nasty.
ОтветитьAppreciate the videos!
ОтветитьMay want to abandon the antiquated recommendation of not throwing curve balls/breaking balls before a "certain age". This old school teach has been disproven as injurious to young arms, growth plates, early Tommy John, etc...
Everything else is excellent. Well explained. Appreciate the videos Dan.
Thank you so much I threw a nasty slider and it was great to my average.
ОтветитьThanks coach!
ОтветитьWhen I was growing up and playing jr highschool baseball. We only had 2 pitches. Curve and fastball. Now kids are learning to throw sliders.
Ответитьif a hitter cant make contact on a slider, Im throwing him nothing but sliders haha. I like the sweeping slider personally. Great for first pitch strikes and back door outs against lefties (RHanded). tight sliders are good for outside corners against rh hitters or low in the zone for chased balls. Knowing how to throw both is a bonus
ОтветитьPOV you already know a slider and just wants to see the comments to see what people think about it
ОтветитьThank you very much this will help my son
Ответитьyou are the goat
ОтветитьI’ve always had this pitch as a number 5, one that I threw not too often. But recently I’ve thrown it more and found that it really does get people swinging and missing.
ОтветитьI’m and 12 and throw 62
Ответитьok so i am 10 but yesterday at my baseball gamje i was throwing sliders but i was trying to throw a fast ball so would that still be bad for my arm
ОтветитьHey Coach, in the last few years we have seen and heard announcers and others around the game talk about The Sweeper. Is The Sweeper an effective pitch for some guys or is that really just a mis-thrown curve or slider? Thanks for all of your great videos and I enjoy your channel!
ОтветитьIn your compilation video I can`t believe you didn`t showcase John Smoltz. Man he had a nasty slider.
ОтветитьThank you I never really knew how to throw a slider, this helped a lot, I just learned how to throw a knuckle curve.
ОтветитьWhat kind of t shirt is that coach?
ОтветитьListen here if you are someone that is going to try this out! In just 5 minutes of me trying this pitch, I was able to throw some insane sliders. Here are some things I noticed about it as I learned it. First, if you want that perfect diagonal slide on the pitch, then focus more on the front/top spin (this might only be me though). When I put more effort into getting the top spin and the side spin, I threw more of a straight cutter. So you can change up things and modify it to how you like it. You can take almost a slurve approach to the pitch, or get a cutter out of it. This was a great video and i'm going to need to get this slider into my games as soon as possible.
ОтветитьCoach Dan is there any types of drills that I can do to help me with this pitch because I’m struggling on getting both of the spins for the slider
Ответитьthis is hard
ОтветитьI dont even know what a slider is, but im looking for good throws for dodgeball, because my muscles hurt, but cool to learn
ОтветитьThis guy is good. I wish I had a coach like this when I was I high school
ОтветитьI used to throw this so good until I put down the glove and now trying to relearn it after 3 years
ОтветитьThankd
ОтветитьOh I did it right :/
ОтветитьWhen i try it looks like a curveball
ОтветитьI threw one yesterday that was nasty just messing around. Once i tried it on purpose i couldnt throw the damn thing anymore
ОтветитьI messed up I thought I was throwing curveballs at practice and I was throwing sliders and my catcher was said I was throwing a slider but I thought I was throwing a curve do you have any advice for me to throw a curve
ОтветитьGreat explanation! I would love it if you could talk about the difference between a slider and a curveball. My son has a 3/4 or lower delivery. His curve’s break is more 11 -5 or 10 - 4 and sometimes I think he’s actually throwing a slider. Keep the great work!
ОтветитьGreat demo Dan. Thank you!
ОтветитьI know this isn’t the topic of the video, but I need advice on throwing a changeup. Rapsodo is saying that my changeup has 6 inches of drop compared to my fastball has -4 inches of run (it has less run then my fastball). What metrics should I look for my changeup? Does it have enough drop?
ОтветитьThis is my favorite pitch to throw and always will be.
ОтветитьAt what mph does the seam orientation become obsolete to hitters eye. I've heard it doesn't matter if it 2 seam or 4 seam. But I heard that up to h/s that it does matter, and I don't hear it from ppl in levels after that. I'm assuming it's velo gap..
