That's great and all but you failed to mention how the tires performed. By not mentioning how the tires performed leaves me to believe you didn't like their performance. I am in the market for tires on my Tesla Model 3 Performance. I drive about 24k miles a year and would like the t
All season tire to perform well in all conditions. I would like to have a little fun with the tires as well but would like the tires to last around 45k miles with my somewhat aggressive driving style.

Latest Audi EV est weighs in at 2.7 tons , park that on an asphalt drive on a hot day and it will sink into the driveway .
For the cost of a set of EV tyres you can buy a good secondhand ICE car ! /UK

I just got the Audi e-tron, the quietest cabin on the market with dual pane acoustic glass and lots of acoustic treatment or sound deadening material everywhere because it is so quiet I love it, the quietness calms my Aspergers. And the rest of the car is just as awesome, I hope you can test drive one and put it on your show.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the iON evo as and the iON evo as suv? Hankook has lots of literature announcing these 2 series but not too clear on how they differ and when to use one over the other.

I have a 1.9 tonne high performance ice suv. Same characteristics as a Tesla for e.g. All these benefits would apply to this car should I fit them even though it’s not electric?

Nothing special, there have been cars in this weight range for decades. Oh, and 'low rolling resistance tires" are not new to EV either. Higher torque, lol, that's called a sport tire.

Requirents for tire for ANY car:

1) approrpriate weight rating
2) appropriate speed rating
3) Appropriate tread pattern and compound to match weather and driving style.

"EV tire" is a marketing term to seperate you from more cash in your wallet.

My thought is if make like a caterham with electric drive system, be similar weight or lighter than a normal car so if tyre matter then

What happens if you use EV tires on a gasoline vehicle? Do they last way longer or?

Can you make a second part with these tires what happens at 25,50.75 and 100% wear on the tires? I like to know what happens to the car efficiency and noise as the tire wears out?

This is pretty interesting. I’ve heard the argument that EVs need different tires because they are heavy but don’t all tires have load ratings anyway? If you discount the acceleration (a different discussion), I’m not sure why load bearing is brought up so often.

I put Michelin Crossclimate 2 tires on my VW E-Golf and had to make sure the load rating was appropriate.

Some of the EV tires may have better rolling resistance, but they may have poor stopping on wet roads. This is similar to some eco-friendly tires on ICE vehicles.

We are about to take delivery of our first electric car and I’m concerned that there is no spare tyre (which I only just found out about). All good saying help is just a phone call away except if you are in one of the many mobile black spots in Australia. Seems very short sighted and potentially dangerous to me.

Sounds like electric tires would wear better and be quieter and get better mileage that gas tires on a gas car .

Pros:
1. < Weight
2. < Noise
3. < Rolling resistance.
4. > Being able to handle instant torque.
4. > Stiffness.

Cons:
5. < Grip
6. < Rain dissipation
7. < Comfort
8. < Durability

There are no free lunches. Just trade-offs.

just dreaming..wonder if there's viable assistive technology to help shift the momentum vector, without touching the ground, and not just for EVs.
example: air flaps or side jets.
or, back to using ground, treads developed specifically for cornering.

I have noticed something about rolling efficiency over my more than 50 years of driving and that is my car rolls far better going down hill then going up a hill, also fuel economy changes drastically going up compared to going down, it's why I plan my trips in a way that I only go down hill to my destination and never go North as North is all up hill on my Globe of the world.
This is why we should always listen to our older members of society as we pick up these tid bits from just being around for so long :)

You missed one… the road noise silencing inner foam (found on Tesla’s) prevents the flat fix spray in foam that comes with the car in lieu of a real spare tire, doesn’t work in an emergency because the liquid foam sealant is prevented from entering the puncture and solidify by the internal road noise silencing pad… self defeating IMO.
