Wow this brings back memories... Me and my at the time friends, 17 years young, saw the On Your Feet or On Your Knees tour (1977), War Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo, NY. All members of this band play lead guita5r at one time or another. Exceptional band.....

It literally doesn’t matter what guitar is in these guys hands(bless and love to you Allen, you’ll be missed by this one dipshit till the day I die, I want to cry my my eyes out all over again, and I lost my only child in a accident, I don’t think there’s enough tears in the world if you live long enough)

I saw BOC play in Richman, Virginia. I was 15. I was staying at the same hotel as them. I saw Eric Bloom in the lobby and asked to shake his hand, and he refused. So, Eric is dick. I know that much.

First time i saw BOC was at a Jr. College in Cocoa Fl. Oct. 22, 1972! There were 3 bands! BOC, Marshall Tucker, and the best band of the night, a local band called NEW DAYS AHEAD!

What a great shining moment for Allen Lanier (RIP)....he could have played lead for dozens of other bands, but chose to be part of one of the best, but underrated groups through the '70s and '80s. A true overlooked star at both guitar and keyboards. BOC rocked.

I got to Blue Oyster cult really, really late --- Not until my mid-50s. The thing I can't figure out is why Van Halen got so much attention and ink over this band. I easily prefer the guitar work and the sound by Dharma over anything I've ever heard by Eddie Van Halen.

I had the good fortune to see BOC in a Virginia Beach bar in the summer of 92. Stood about three feet away from Buck as he worked his magic. Good times.

I knew that “Buck” was a genius the night I met him at college. I was unpacking the first night when he walked into my room out of nowhere and plugged his blue Fender into a pig-nose amp. We sang oldies all night! Next, we formed a frat band we called the Travesty. It was two years of fun until Buck and Al Bouchard, our drummer, took off for The Island, Buck’s stomping grounds, to form Soft White Underbelly. Those were the days, my friend!
