My First Impressions of Honolulu, Hawaii (Waikiki Beach)

This series was filmed back in September, but was in the same damaged hard drive, as my content from the Philippines! This will only be a short 5 video series, as I'm currently in Egypt and these videos will be starting to come out next week! I hope you guys enjoy these videos and I look forward to sharing Egypt with you and will start publishing as soon as I am out of the country. (for security reasons of course)

I was in Hawaii back in September with my parents for my sisters wedding, it was an amazing time I think I will go back again sometime in the future.

Actually North shore is the surf capital of the USA and Huntington Beach has adopted being the surf city of the USA

One girl said that the board was dirty from the rain.
In Santos, São Paulo, clean water only on the most distant beaches, such as Caraguatatuba.

Waikiki is cool for a day but it's basically like Vegas on the beach. The rest of Oahu is great particularly the north shore. We got a one bedroom condo on the beach in Haleiwa for $150 a night 5 years ago. Full kitchen to save on meals. You can drive to spots where you're the only person in eye sight. Hopefully you discovered Kono's while you were there. Best breakfast burrito ever.

PS I live in belmont heights.

Wacky Kiki seems like most other cities but with palm trees. Has restaurants and similar shops. Higher prices.

You need to go to Kauai

We stay at Outrigger Waikiki, next to Cheesecake Factory. They also have the Famous Duke’s Resturant, he was a famous Surfer.

I am from the east coast. The flight is so much shorter for me if I go somewhere in the Caribbean (+cheaper) but there is really something about Hawaii that keeps me wanting to go back.

The island speaks to me. It definitely helps reset me back to my calm self when life gets tough and stress from work is creeping up.

Eat local , try and stay away from commercial places (Cheesecake Factory) . Waikiki very touristy .

Grew up on Oahu, my advice, GET OUT OF WAIKIKI, rent a car.

Oahu is expensive but Waikiki is twice the price

Chris, the next time you go to Honolulu you should stay at the Hale Koa (military resort) or stay on base since you’re a military vet. The nightly rates are much cheaper and it will save you a ton of money.

In a tourist area, anywhere in America, super high prices are normal because tourists will buy just about anything….and will usually stay inside the tourist bubble. Eat outside the tourist area, and always have a hotel room with a kitchen so you can cook, or at least save leftovers from takeout in the fridge and eat that for two days… make sure it’s something savory.

Rent a car for a day and drive to Kailua Beach. Ít is much nicer. The water is clear and it is quieter

Nice to see someone enjoy Oahu for first time! Reminds me of our first time, we love Hawaii and have been lucky enough to come here 10 times from Canada in our winter cold months! Great vid! Make sure you rent a car and check out other side of island for all the beautiful non crowded beaches!!

nothing like the hawaii of the 1980s great times back then great night life spatts nightclub in the basement of the hyatt regency hotel great times looking at it tody so many changes have no desire to go back its lost its magic to comercialised now i feel sorry for the true hawaiian people they have lost there heritage they must be so sad about that
