The Sri Lankan kit is impressive. If you separated the items and made them over 2-3 days, you can add a salad, soup, roasted veggies, or rice to bulk up each meal. That helps to alleviate the price tag of $75 for one dinner.

Part of me is sad that the restaurants around me don't do these kits, our city never really closed down. Dining out was off the list of options for about a month, but that was to just let them train their staffs for the new way of doing things, then we were back out. That said, we also don't have a Gordon Ramsay restaurant close enough and I want to do that Wellington, and the others are also not restaurants we have in north TX so I can almost do what the restaurants near me do by just going to the grocery store.

I was very much tempted by the Cash & Kari Hopper box, but the price has gone up from £75 to £115 since this video was made. That takes it out of the range of a lot of potential customers....me included unfortunately.

I struggle to see problem with food plastic containers. They are usually one of two types - '1' or '5', first one is PET, the second is PP and both are easily recyclable. PET is meant to be recyclable, not reusable, as it can start releasing chemicals into the food with time. PP more stable and is both reusable and recyclable. So if you follow general waste sorting practice, those types of plastic are not a problem.

Uhm... As far as i know, shawarma is supposed to be eaten folded inside of the bread like a Döner 😅

If I were running one of these shops trying to keep going with shop to home kits, I'd add a couple pounds to the price and put everything in decent storage containers with a note to wash and keep them for personal use.

That Sri Lankan meal was totally underpriced. While I love the fact that they provide a massive amount of food at an affordable price (I reckon I can feed 4 adults and 2 children with that amount of food), a hipster burger joint would have charged the same price for a meal kit for 3 people. Mike was absolutely right, they could have charged about a hundred quid for that kit. But socioculturally, trying to survive in London as a Sri Lankan restaurant, you can't put price tags the way a French restaurant can. It pisses me off a bit. I feel like David Chang.

The only thing i hate about these is all the packaging.

Have to say the one that mike done is pretty tempting, for a celebration meal, or alternative christmas dinner would be pretty cool... thats a lot of food, different courses, and stress free cooking, and for a more than full stomach, 75quid for 4? People is pretty dang reasonable! Honestly, i see quite a few of the kits on here, it comes to the price, and im like wtf! Whyyyyy

That Hoppers box looked amazing ... you could feed a couple for a week on that box. Mike did an exceptional job!

My favorite part of this video was seeing Mike’s baking tray warping out of the oven just like mine does.
