My previous videos have been a bit negligent with the mastering of my voice audio - so I've tried it a bit differently in this video, let me know what you think of it!

If i had to guess i would say Melina did it. She asked use to do unimaginable things for the greater good, including a CARDINAL SIN OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER which is way worse then some itsy bitsy murder to set things in motion. Besides its clear from the first in-game cinematic that she was watching us even before we the player saw our character for the first time.I dunno why i comented on a 2yo video but maybe someone will se it.

Our player character is actually a half god himself. the cutscene where the player is revived has a lot of soundeffects and stomping just like the walking mausoleums that are for revival of half gods

Hello! You are correct with your last 2 suspects. It was Varre who did it, but he was "pushed"/manipulated ever so slightly by Marika in the grand scheme of thing. Marika wanted us to be without a maiden so we are given Melina's help instead.

We are fated, expected to appear in the LB as one of the last, if not the very last tarnished, alongside Godfrey. Torrent "sniffs" us, Melina accepts us because of torrent, Ranni was told to give the spirit calling bell to the owner of torrent, Hewg creates the weapons for us and the godslayer weapon. I would not even be surprised if Miquella tells us in his future DLC that "so you are the one mother told us about?"

It's all one big conspiracy. I suspect something happened in the past between us and Marika, maybe a future time travel DLC will explain this, one where we will travel to the past. I bet we helped her create the golden order by killing the GEQ.

Gideon Ofnir is a viable candidate. He has motive, he has means, and he has a far reach of influence.

the blood on varre's hand and uniform is likly Mohg's accursed blood as he is a war surgeon who is trying to tame Mohg's blood.

It was Ranni.
Motive: To have a viable consort. She's grooming you the entire game because you're integral to her replacing Marika. She already has 3 guys doing her bidding, but she knows of their individual short comings and incompetence's and she'd also already have vetted them as viable Elden Lords, all of which would've come up short.
Method: She used gravity magic, crashed a comet through the chapel's roof and killed our maiden. Then she took our maiden's spirit and handed it over to Seluvius to become a puppet, therefore making him a red herring and throwing us off her trail. Then she just has to give the tarnished the bell she used to imprison our maiden's spirit and head to her rise to await our inevitable arrival.
If Ranni and Melena are the same person, this only adds merit and strengthens the case against Ranni, due to the evidence presented here.
Congrats to everyone who married Ranni, she pulled a Mrs. Lovett and you fell for it like the big dumb Sweeney Todd that you are.

Melina killed her 100% her entire purpose, given to her by Markia, is to burn the Erdtree. She did it before we came to the lands between, in the age of the Erdtree, when it was a physical thing and not an object of faith, and now with us here, she has the opportunity to do it again. She can't reach the forge or the rune of death alone, so it makes sense that she'd need a tarnished to do all the work and get there. Maybe the only reason she couldn't get there earlier is because the other tarnished already had maidens

(Ashes of a hawk revered by all others as sovereign back in the days when Stormveil's winds still raged like no other.) this hawk literally has what godrick wants reverence by all others as sovereign the scion in the fringe folk grave stay by erdtree favor seems like grafted scions are being sent to gather stuff that symbolize sovereignty since we all know that godrick cant claim the throne in a fight so the only way is to have most people acknowledge you as their sovereign both of those in his possesion would make him look the part of " sovereign with erdtree favor " which people would back specially in royal capital after all who do you think they would fight for in a civil war within the capital their omen king or godrick and we know tht all his siblings are either innactive , uninterested or they are ranni who lives in the give me god of war mode

I'm such a goober I just walked past her and thought "huh, a dead chick" and just went on about my business 😅

its possible the scion is still responsible, if the maiden knew why it was there and attempted to kill it to protect us. maybe she realized she was outmatched, fled to the chapel, locked the doors, and the damage to the roof is caused by the scion breaking in that way? that leaves time for her to write the message, too. after killing her it simply left the way it came.

It was us all along! We were the Maiden! You thought I was a Tarnished? FOOL, I killed my Tarnished and made it look like they were a Maiden! MUHAHAHAHA. No but I suspect it was Torrent...okay no, who cares anyways? Who ever did kill our Maiden did us a HUGE favor. Because we got Melina, which is a spirit...imagine having to play elden ring but you constantly have to protect your Maiden, it would be an endless escorting mission....that would suck

For the longest time, i just assumed it was Varré. But this video has kinda changed my mind. Im starting to lean toward Melina. She had more to gain from a Maidenless than anyone

Maybe someone on the Volcano Manor. But not finding a tarnish they find our maiden and kill her. Just finished the manor and it was fresh in my head. Had to share

The answer is Iji. iji suggested it as counselor, Ranni/Melina hybrid accepted it to get help accomplishing her goals, Blaidd took Seluvis, and seluvis turned our maiden in to a puppet.

Idk it seems pretty obvious to me that Varre killed our maiden to set us on the path to joining him as a Bloody Finger.

Ranni had Blaidd do it. She wants to break the cycle of the Erd tree. She's been pulling strings way before the game starts.

Melina isn't a true maiden and wants you to commit a cardinal sin later on
Varre hates maidens and when you have Melina as a maiden he knows she can't give you guidance

They probably teamed together to formulate this plan to have Melina not have any trust with the 2 fingers with Varre wanting maids dead

Shabriri. We know that Vyke gave in to the Frenzied Flame because he didn't want to sacrifice his maiden. Well... Maybe Shabriri thought we wouldn't be attached to our own maiden enough, so he made sure that our maiden would be Melina. Also, having already lost our original maiden and being told by people again and again that we are maidenless would surely make us more inclined to refuse sacrificing Melina. And it's actually easy for Shabriri to kill our maiden in the Chapel of Anticipation, since he can possess dead bodies like he did to Yura.

I’d say the Grafted Scion is more likely the culprit. I think this is how it played out. The Maiden was wondering outside the chapel, and encountered it, the Scion then struck her with enough force to send her flying and crashing through the roof of the Chapel, which is why the doors are still shut, but the maiden is found inside. She writes her message, and dies from her grievous wounds, and thus, the scene ends.

What if were the one who killed your own maiden, and that is what makes you the Tarnished of No Renown?

What if Ranni is lIke Aizen and planned all this for the Age of Stars to happen. And for the age of stars to happen she needed to kill our maiden, so that she can substitute her absence with Melina, who would provide us with the mysterious Torrent and also sacrifice herself on the Mountain Top of the Giants because Ranni stated herself that she already casted her mortal flesh which could be Melina, who is programmed by Ranni with the help of Seluvis, because he can do it, to help us or kill us according to our choices.

Varré is quite obvious to me. He is directly involved with rituals requiring to kill maidens, is conveniently waiting for us at the exit with stains of bright red blood on his clothes (indicating it's not old), the first thing he brings up is maidens, he is very interested in recruiting us, going as far as leaving a message behind when he leaves in case we look for him. Killing our only known support and guidance makes his proposal much more attractive.
