Layne Stayley's own mother gave William Duvall her blessing to carry on the band, that alone supercedes any sore or bitter fans who cannot accept the passing of the torch. I understand that disdain and reluctance, but you're outgunned, Layne's MOTHER approved of this man. I would really love to spend some time with a band I hold dear. They've grown old with me, yet my respect and admiration remain as strong as ever, even for the new members. It's like talking to old friends, sharing a beer, just a few carefree minutes of casual conversation. I also want to express my gratitude for everything they've accomplished so far

Nobody will EVER replace Layne. He had a gift from God. With that said, William Duval is an amazing singer in his own rite. He does this song and Layne's memory justice.

Gotta respect him for not tryna be Layne, and doing a damn good job. But there could never be a better voice for AIC’s sound than layne.

In 1991 I saw Van Halen. AIC was the opener. We were there for Eddie, not AIC. After the show my buddy and I waited by the artists gate hoping to meet Eddie. It's late and we're cold. We'd been hanging out with this guy. He was cool. Really nice guy in black biker jacket with a denim vest over it and a Harley cap with the brim turned up who kept producing beers from his jacket pockets like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat. Just as we were about to pack it in and give up he said, "Nah, man. Stick around. Eddie's still in there. He was still there when I left, and I haven't seen his car leave." Turns out we'd been hanging out with Jerry Cantrell and didn't know it. He was a real nice guy and he was right. We DID meet Eddie.

People need to stop idolizing other human beings. Stayley was an awesome singer, no doubt. But this guy is just as good. To reach layne level in some idiot's minds he just needs to od on heroin/cocaine after deteriorating for about 15 years. No human being is a God and that includes layne. Sorry not sorry
