This is really the best way how to waste your hard earned money.. the new motors looks like a third party one. so stop wasting your money and invest in the old one!

Hi I want to build a decent RC technic car with BuWizz 3.0 + 2xBuwizz motors. But I cannot find a proper servo motor in the market. Can I use 45503 EV3 Medium Servo Motor? Is it better or worse than (response time, turning degrees...etc.) 88004 Power Functions Servo Motor?

I don’t even wanna build RC vehicles or trains – I just want a basic motor with basic speed control that can plug into basic grid power! I’m tired of everything on earth getting powered by batteries and tied to a damn app!!

I prefer power functions but the square shape of the power up is very useful tbh

I'm really sad they discontinued power functions because there was nothing wrong with it, it worked fine and made its way into hundreds of sets and always worked

I just hate how the battery box alone costs $90. You used to be able to get a full power functions set for that much. (Tracked racer). An old AA box cost like $10. I get that it adds a receiver in it but it shouldn’t be costing that much, especially since it doesn’t even come with a remote.

I think I'll just build my own motor set with real RC components and 3D Printing.

This is such a turn off. It seems like you need to buy 300$ of stuff. Just to find out what to buy!!!! Is this true? I'm a dad and I don't know what to do.

Just a small question racing brick:
Do pf motors work for pu receivers?

Powered Up can be used for more simple and compact builds that don't have a lot of space and have little function, no more than connecting a hub to an M motor to get something to work. Power functions can be used for larger builds and more complex builds, since you can stack theoretically infinite wires onto one battery box.

As a toy, I'd take the new one because of the range, but having to rely on a software and a smartphone to run the toy is a minus.

Instead of trying to make them smaller and compact so they could be used in more and smaller mocs, they make them bigger and harder to implement

I noticed that many of the Control + Motors are slower than their PF counterparts (in terms of RPM). Does the slower RPM of the Control + Motors have a noticeable effect on MOCs or no?

Indeed, as I've told you related to 42099 + PoweredUp app, PoweredUp app loses control in a short while.
