Car was so ahead of its time
ОтветитьI bought mine in 2002 and still drive it a lot. I have 170K (and 20 years) on it and still on factory hybrid battery, although I have replaced the 12V battery in the trunk at least 4 times. I Very Much Like the more open interior space and larger windows compared to those in the new Prius. I don't miss and don't prefer a center arm-rest. I recently upgraded to a new Toyota Hybrid and I would prefer to drive the old Prius because I can see better and don't feel so confined. It has a traditional rear window which gives an unobstructed rear view unlike the Second Gen and newer Priuses. Still, I love my Toyota Hybrids.
ОтветитьThe “penis” shaped shifter lol
Ответить666th like
ОтветитьSo ahead of it’s time
ОтветитьI would love to buy a cheap one and restore it to it's former glory. Then I'm never getting rid of it anything happens. This one and 1st gen Honda Insight were like speceships back then.
ОтветитьUgliest car of this side 2000
Ответитьfor an old car its still pretty futuristic and well designed
Ответить0-60 was about 12.7 seconds, but 0-30 was about 3.5 seconds.
ОтветитьSeeing this car reminds me of seeing a first gen iPod or iPhone. Advanced for its time but bright future ahead for it.

ОтветитьBattery only goes bad in these cars if you let sit to long or you are not an effiecnt driver
ОтветитьProbably would have made more sense if toyota made it a middle seat in front with the counsol that low.

ОтветитьIf you are selling that car I am buying! Make me an offer dude. I love these cars and own a 02 and a 03. One of the best cars Toyota ever make. It is sad they F-ked up all the years that followed it. Grrr. I'd keep away from the 2nd gen years.
ОтветитьIt sounds like a vacuum cleaner
ОтветитьI love these 1st Gen models!! They're awesome
ОтветитьThat looks like Honda Accord
ОтветитьI just finished a 1500 mile road trip in My 2002 Prius it’s now 2018 as far as I know the battery was never changed except a 12 V battery that is used to start the car and run the accessories I did that just before my trip car had 178,000 miles when I left 46 mpg not bad w gas hitting 3.80 in San Diego...all the way from Seattle Washington to San Diego including a side trip to Yosemite best car for the money I’ve ever owned, despite being 16 years old and it’s 0 to 60 in 15 minutes.... my epic journey will be on my channel by next week....
Ответитьthis is better then the new prius
ОтветитьThe old look ok, But the new look ugly.
ОтветитьI want to restore one of these plus a red 86 Taurus LX.

Only US version didn"t have it.
