That's super interesting! I do wonder though, if you asked for a specific domain, and it has the necessary glue records, couldn't it respond were those if you asked it for that domain directly? It would make sense to glue those things on in the case that you know they are going to be requested anyway, to require one less DNS lookup - though now that I think about it, that could actually be the answer, with it still pointing to the DNS server with an NS record for consistency?
Either way, that's a very interesting implementation detail (well, implementation detail for those who don't have to deal with where the name servers for their stuff are), and a well made video about it :)
