I thought it was illegal to marry at 14 years old. I would think it is a sort of pedophilia to have guys come and look at a 10 yrs old? She has a great husband.

This is all about the mother wanting the attention and acceptance in her gypsy community and she thinks by using her daughter and compromising her safety and future that this is an acceptable way to get it. Gross. Good for the dad for protecting his daughter. The mother needs counseling to work through her hurt, and recognizing using her daughter for the sake of “tradition” is not ok. I am all for preserving tradition so long as it doesn’t harm in the process. There are many “traditions” in many cultures and backgrounds that are no longer practiced for this very reason. Yikes. I hope the daughter does wonderful things for herself and her future.
