The inter R is an animal even as a FWD car. It just needs a 4wd and a turbo to match the GTR and it would walk it. No doubt. The GTR wasn't that far and it knew the R was on its tail so it got sloppy.

The GTR was just toying with the Type R all thru the race. No amount of engineering can compensate for a FWD layout. Even the Type R today is substandard to RWD or AWD.
