Who watched it with subtitles😂 I am an english learner who have no accent
ОтветитьHello, I am passionate about cars and racing, the history of cars. I don't understand the English language. Please is there somewhere where I can watch this video with audio in Spanish?
Ответитьas someone born in the early 2000s I find myself attracted to 1990-2000s cars mostly but you videos have been great to learn about cars as a whole so thank you love the content
ОтветитьExceptional episode
ОтветитьThe swing music at the beginning is called "work that skirt" by jo part for those wondering
ОтветитьI might be not the only one to say it, but that trend of 30 to 40 years old cars gaining popularity as classics is not only due to the older generations nostalgia, but also dictated by things as simple as availability and price bracket.
Try to sneak up on a decently preserved 69 Challenger nowadays for a sum that an average guy can spend on his hobby - like in the nineties!
A-ha! There are those auction lots and hundreds of thousands, guys!
You could as well rent a house for quite some time or pay for your education to become the most effective manager over the effective managers over the managers... Oh, I digress!
That's just not anymore a thing for the ordinary people to sneeze at, yeah!
Ed I sometimes feel you've gotten your hands on a Delorean and hit 88 mph! Your fondness for 50's cars is anachronistic seeing as you are just a kid!
ОтветитьI am not a hater, but I only wanted to say that you got the date for the first car show wrong.
You said that 4years later(after 1894) was 1888
In the late 70s, 80s and 90s most cars were dreadful, not to mention many many economy cars like Datsun/Nissan, Honda, Toyota don't exist anymore because they were scrapped. Cars that used to be a dime a dozen are now rare and collectable. Try finding a first generation Honda Civic, they as rare as dragons teeth, even the ubiquitous VW, from the Beetle to the Squareback/Fastback and especially the Microbus, are commanding big bucks simply because so many were allowed to rust away or were crushed to make Chinese washing machines, just like all the old Civics and Celicas. Darn right shame but that the reality today.
ОтветитьNiceeee😎
ОтветитьMuito legal!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьCertain "regular cars" from all decades of manufacture will always hold interest. You are correct that the focus will always be between what your dad had and what you wanted as a teen. The market proves that point.
Nice one Ed. Lots of video candy.
Cheers 🇨🇦
This is truly a great video, I absolutely agree with you about cars from the 1950's, American in particular, when design really mattered and was perfectly executed inside and out.
Yes of course I also like Euro sports cars and super cars from later times or Japanese tuner cars, American muscle cars and some other modern cars - the lavish, extravagant show for the eyes of 50's American cars will always have a special place in my heart
Wil je ook je video’s in het Nederlands maken?
ОтветитьBro, ain’t searching for horses and bicycles 🙄 need the history of automobile; you talking sh*t here,
How does made JDM! n Italian stallions!!, n American muscles!!!,when?,who are the founders? You talking nonsense n wasting our time!!!🙄 If I got time I’d do the best history of automobile video 🙂
Back in the late 80s to early 90s I see to be involved in street racing and car show with air cooled vws, I had a karmen ghia that ate mustsuck street racing, still live nhra racing, and went to lions drag strip museum opening
ОтветитьI just bought a 63 fairlane. I've been going to Back To The Fities since I was 4. I will always loves classics from the 40s 50s and 60s
Ответитьim ahead of my time, i like the cars of the 2000s
Ответить👏🏻
ОтветитьThis is why engines are measured by horsepower
ОтветитьDo you have a content about French cars of the ‘60s ?
ОтветитьWunderbar!
ОтветитьGood Boy
ОтветитьI find videos about cars from the 80s interesting because I grew up in that time period and because the cars sucked ass. But I have no interest in owning any of them.
ОтветитьI really like 1960s and 1970s cars actually. It is pretty rare to that when you are 16 but in Sweden we have a large uniqe car culture called raggare.
ОтветитьBloody brilliant Ed!!!!
ОтветитьI’m with you Ed I’m 21 but I love the 50’s and older when it comes to cars
ОтветитьWhen you see an $80,000, candy apple red, lacquered, chromed engine, low rider, 60s, Chevy truck with a mural of Selena on the hood at a Low Rider show, you know you are in the thick of a car culture. Plus it's a great way to hide (invest) drug money.
ОтветитьI've noticed where I live (metro Detroit) that people my age are building older cars than the normal 40-50 year timeline. I'm 36, and I've gotten older and older cars. Now I have a 60 Ford fairlane. I think we want to experience what our dads were talking about when we were growing up.
ОтветитьAnd then there are people like me who are 18, born in 04 and idealising the 80s haha😅
ОтветитьThe first automobile club was the Deutscher Touring Club founded in 1886, not the French outfit you mention.
ОтветитьGod i hate SUVs and crossovers. They are the wood penaled station wagons of the 2020's
ОтветитьWhat you should talk about is how the rich collectors have driven the damn price through the roof.....
Kids...
A Cadillac blackwing is the same price
As A Fleetwood from 31!!!!
Great job 👏
ОтветитьYeah,i was born in the 2000s, but I still sure do love 1990s & 1980s cars.
ОтветитьVery insightful Mister Ed. The car replacing the horse in people's affections, and the 30-50 year timeline for what classic cars are desirable. I was born in the mid 1970s and own a car from 1994 but it isn't just nostalgia. It's disc brakes all around. Fuel injection. Airbags. Seatbelt pre-tensioners. A stronger safety cage and better crumple zones. First gen engine management software resulting in fuel economy and power, and not one or the other. Standard options that were once optional luxuries (AC, power windows, doors, sunroofs, etc.). And yet, with its mechanical linkages, it's obviously a far more analogue experience over a modern car, and simpler to repair and maintain. In other words, modern enough for use as a DD today, but not so modern that it feels like you're driving a PlayStation.
ОтветитьEd, you're forgetting about The Boca Brothers Car Reviews, that's the last channel still doing episodes for 60s-70s cars
ОтветитьBenz did not invent the motor car nor build the first car. Benz produced the first commercial vehicle.
ОтветитьI’m not stuck in any time period just the past as a whole
ОтветитьGive it ten years, my 95 Oldsmobile is gonna be considered classic. Sure the last five years or so everyone says it's junk and it'll never be worth nothing, but they'll see. They'll see in time.
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьOne day I swear I make a drum 'n' bass track using samples from this guy's videos.
ОтветитьWell done Edward, another great entertaining episode 👏 👏 👏👍👍👍
ОтветитьI've missed you, Ed!! You care about what you publish on your channel and you do your research. That said, I'm a 67 year old car nut. Newest car I have is a 2011 Chevy. BUT!!! The oldest one I have is an all-original 1973 Buick Limited that my Dad bought new in December of 1972. He loved this car so much, he pretty much stopped driving it after the first year so it wouldn't wear out. It now has about 21,000 miles on it and I keep it in pristine order. I only drive it a few times a year, to car meets and such. I no longer take it to car shows because my old bones can NOT take being in the hot sun or sitting in an uncomfortable chair for 8-10 hours, just to spend the next day cleaning her back up to new. What you said about ageing out of this really rings true to me. I won't be able to maintain her for much longer and have no family that would be interested in picking up the torch. So, I'll be putting her up for sale when I turn 73 [fitting!] and another enthusiastic person can carry her torch. Hope they love her like I do.
Keep up the great work, Ed!!!
Also I understand Catherine the Great knows a thing or two about horses for pleasure 🍆🥒🥖
