Thanks a lot for this info! Very informative. Is limited hip abduction and hip extension (range of motion) also a positive sign? At the end range the pain worsens.

Hi,

I have pain over the lateral side of the thigh (it band/vastus lateralis). I have got an MRI scan which showed fluid over the greater trochanter. So my diagnosis was trochanteric bursitis. What troubles me is that i dont really have pain over the greater trochanter but the pain is over the lateral thigh. Also palpation over the greater trochanter is not painful. My question is, are these symptoms still consistent with GTPS, or do I have another problem?

How can we differentiat GTPS WITH bursitis of hip

What's the best option for sitting and standing? My lower back and right hip have been hurt all year and I cant figure it out. I get nerve pain all over from it and down both legs. Any suggestions??

I got a guided shot for SIJ but it only killed pain in periformis not lateral much though better, also use a standing desk bought right after reading how bad sitting is for this. I am an avid exerciser. The hardest for me is not crossing my legs when sitting. I lost 20 lbs over 2 yrs giving up meat and dairy. I thought maybe at 62 I have arthritis? Until SIJ diagnosis. I still work out daily, but I keep it low impact.
