And obviously I love the entire history
ОтветитьIs very affascinating
ОтветитьI love the history of colonialism
ОтветитьDo you have literacy needs? Kitchener and Churchill were monsters, pure evil, indeed. Early in 1882, the Ansar, armed with spears and swords, overwhelmed a British-led 7,000-man Egyptian force not far from Al Ubayyid and seized their rifles, field guns and ammunition. So, yeah, the British were pretty useless, indeed. I'm not here to offend any one. I'm just being honest. There isn't that many decent British people throughout all of British history. And the British Australian contingent to Sudan war dead were never returned or buried at home. Many locals still dig up the dead British and Australians. The British committed awful crimes against Humanity.
ОтветитьFunny no one ever cares about Islamists enslaving Africans...
ОтветитьI have a British 1885 sword, issued to the 21st Lancers, who were at the battle of Omderman.
ОтветитьSome of the west Sudan was separate kingdoms during invasion, so technically British didn't colonized Sudan completely.
ОтветитьHello
ОтветитьA decent, succinct overview of a massively influential history so I commend you for that. Of course, if you had an extra few seconds, it would be helpful to mention the extreme famines that plagued the region and of course the cruelty of Kitchener in relation to the famine and the conflict.
ОтветитьFirst battle of Agordat
Battle of Serobeti
Second battle of Agordat
Battle of Kassala
On all these occasions the Italians heavily smashed the Mahdists.
You conveniently forgot about the part where General Gordons army was defeated by the Sudanese people and Gordon was killed 🤔🤔
Ответитьif this guy has 118k subs with ms paint you can too
ОтветитьSudan won the battle
ОтветитьI had to summarize this whole thing into 5 sentences
Ответитьyou miss many mahdi victories
ОтветитьRead the history of Adal sultanet
ОтветитьThey don't like it um 'em!
ОтветитьYou clearly have poor research u missed many number of battles Mahdis won against the brits especially in the east and kordofan and most important to know The british abolished slavery whixh were comminly used by ottoman (turks) not egyptians in southern sudan today south Sudan
Ответитьso the mahdist continue to become lighter in skin throught out the video lol and the mahdi was black FYI not brown , and you skipped the mahdist victories and went directly to british victories :) loooooooooool and skipped the mahdist fighting in the east of sudan the british troops which was going to khortoum to rescue gonrdon .
ОтветитьAn interesting side note to one of the effects of the Boer war. That in WW2, the British didn't force conscription on the South Africans to fight in the war, fearful it may turn them to support Germany. What the British did to the Boers in the war ran long and deep for decades.
ОтветитьIn a 3 minute clip he takes the time to dwell on the incident of the killings of some wounded Mahdists after the battle but does not mention the murder of Gordon or the mass slaughter the Mahdists made at the fall of Khartoum and at every other city they took or the slaughter, slavery and rape they used on any peoples under their power in the 13 years they were allowed to have the region.
Breaking the Mahdist power was the best thing to happen to the region in a long time.
The Mahdist State was basically a 19th century ISIS
Ответить3 minutes? So it is exact opposite to reading In Desert and Wilderness I guess
ОтветитьI find it amazing how Ethiopia defeated multiple colonialists and expansionists.
ОтветитьThe Mahdist stopped the war against Ethiopia because so many Mahdist heroes lost their lives against Ethiopia.
ОтветитьWe study his story in our school he is a cool guy who fought for freedom
ОтветитьSudanese fight bravely against British and Egyptians but do you know that somalians fight so hard against European colonialist that 3 European and ethiopian empire all decide at one time to wage war Franch north west , ethiopians west British at North and far south and Italians east and part of south.
so I see some Sudanese saying that we Sudan are the only african who fought back but did you new somalians fought against 4 imperial forces and they have never been inslaved and the British lost so many wars that they fight with airplanes.
somalia is the only african country that European fight with airplanes in 1921.
so read history before you say we are the only nation fight back against European colonialist.
I was kinda thinking the Mahdist were the underdogs, but when they won they then fucked with ethiopia and taxed them, exactly what the turks did to them. No ones the good guy, just those who strike first and those who fight back
ОтветитьAfter advanced weaponry was used
ОтветитьSudan 🇸🇩 only country that fought back
ОтветитьKitchener was a very cruel man. From his campaigns and cleanups for the empire, it was pretty obvious he was really old fashioned in some of his approaches despite the militaristic refinements he made in WWI. His death pretty much signalled the passing of the old mostly imperialistic campaigns and WWII pretty much solidified that.
ОтветитьThis background music you always use is great. What is it? Also, good on you for having a good diversity in areas of the world that you focus on in these videos
ОтветитьOMG I read about Foshoda before from a book and now I'm having a visual explanation, thanks and stay classy.
ОтветитьEuropean imperialism against Africa, 100% undemocratic.
Ответитьglad to see new videos keep it up man love your videos
