Great vid, lots of good ideas! Thanks. A 6" wide board cut from the factory edge of an 8' sheet of 3/4" stable sheet stock is much cheaper than even an inexpensive 70" level. Placing a quality level on top of the edge of the board gives you an excellent result. (You don't really need the level if you are just checking for coplanar tops, just the perfectly straight board edge.)

I have watched all your videos for the cabinets and mitre saw station a few times. I have a Ryobi sliding mitre saw at the moment that slides backwards so would not suit a built in station like this. I am looking to upgrade to a forward sliding Makita mitre saw that will then connect wirelessly to the Makita dust vacuum that I have. I don't have this yet so not sure on the exact dimensions of the base but I am thinking the depth of the cabinets with need to be bigger than 20 1/4inches. I haven't downloaded the plans yet so can't see if this is easy enough to be done. I don't park my car in the garage it lives on the driveway as this is my workshop :) This is going down the side wall of my garage with opening roller door to street at front and door to house on same wall at the other end this is going on. The area I have to put it is 184 inches. I want to be able to draw up a plan in sketchup to get a better idea of the layout. I like your plan that you show in your video. I also have the sawstop table saw and my dust extractor which I have connected to this is similar to that. I will be buying a few of your plans as well like the wood storage and tool storage cabinet and drill charging station. I am trying to get a bit more organised in my garage and work out the best layout for it all. Sketch up is not the easiest program to do this in. You wouldn't have a video on how you can do this with your workshop plan would you? If you flipped your plan so the stairs and mitre station were on the other wall and chopped off the shelved near the garage door that would be similar to what my garage would be. My garage is 5500mm (18 feet) long x 5400mm (17.72 feet) wide.

hello, there is there a concern for buying a slide taller than 1.75 inches as recommended in the plans? I noticed the ones you recommend are out of stock at wood craft and curious if there are other options or dimensions I need to consider in selecting optional 18 inch slides for the plans to work correctly?

Im building a miter saw station based on your plans, however, I'd like to incorporate a measure tape, ttrack and stop block capability, AND...I want to laminate my countertop with black formica laminate. Can you recommend the order in which to do these things, and what to do to prevent chipout when routing ttrack groove into the laminated surface (assuming you recommend laminating first). Thanks.

Great set-up! Any recommendations for a room that is 8 foot width? I have a 12" compound sliding miter saw that is 26" wide that I'm trying to squeeze in. Fitting the saw in the counter leaves me with 70" of counter space. I'm aware that I have no room to cut 8 foot length wood, but I need a place for the saw. It's too heavy to store away. The room is 8' x 8', very small I know.. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Thanks for the video. You seem to think every detail through including some I would overlook. How high above your lower cabinets did you mount the upper cabinets? I think you might be just an inch or so taller than me so our reach is similar. I know there are "industry standards" of the placement......but I am the only one using my garage shop.

Love you videos Brad. Looking to build something similar here in Australia but my local good quality Birch Plywood merchant is telling me not to use 3/4 inch for doors as it isn't stable enough. Yet, you've done exactly that.
Have you had any issues? I live in Brisbane where our humidity ranges from 60 to 75% depending on the season. Would this be a factor for their concern? Thanks in advance, Clinton

I love these modular cabinets. I want to do a whole wall. But man... that would set me back a pretty penny. And take a while. But one of the things I love about these is that I can build a couple now and add some later like you did. These are great. I'll be buying the bundle of plans soon!
