I do have a question. If I was to release music it will probably be through distrokid, because they upload music to all the stores at once, would there be 1 target to aim for in terms of lufs?
ОтветитьThis is a great explanation. Thank you for delivering quality content Sean! It's so helpful. I've been an active viewer for a while now. Maybe like 5 years. And I return these videos frequently to help my grow my engineering skills. You are appreciated!
ОтветитьI just started back with music production after a 10 year break. It’s almost like I’m starting over. Everything has changed so much. This video is 5 years old and I’m trying to learn from it.
ОтветитьSo wouldn't the Short Term LUFS which is taking an average over a small amount of time be the closest measurement to RMS as they are effectively doing the same?
ОтветитьAre you hiring an intern? I’m a Fullsail university grad. BSc in Audio Production
Ответитьmono compressor is too good on the bass crazy !
Ответитьmy project in reaper sounds really quiet and sound less detailed compared to my references, yet when you play it, my headset and my monitor speakers kind of clips even if it is really not that loud. when i play my references like songs of popular artists like mudvayne, im able to crank the volume without hearing any clippping or static or cracking sound.
for example, if a mudvayne song is at level 10 at volume level, it will sound loud but in a pleasant way , well detailed, punchy, no distortion or clipping. My project however, will begin to clip at level 6 volume, but isnt really that loud and detailed. if i crank it at 10, my speakers will begin to distort to the point that you will hear 90% distorted sound, 10% the song itself. each track are set to -6db and none of them are clipping. i really dont know what to say or how to describe it better but thats aboutt it
Is this useful for vlog audio? Seems it’s just for music? I just try hover around -6 db.
ОтветитьInteresting video. I never heard of LUFS until I watched it. Ok. Question... If I have two identical speakers except one is rated at 100 RMS watts and the other is rated at 250 RMS watts, will there be a difference in LUFS? Thanks!
ОтветитьThanks so much!!
ОтветитьAwesome video man
ОтветитьSean hi. Using the Waves plugins and Cubase 5 is there a way to make male vocals softer, airy and dreamy?
ОтветитьYou can show all your clicks at first ? I can't find same window's on my project. It's hilarious lessons bro
Ответитьdat beat stupid
Ответитьfor those on the quest for the perfect signal, this is the total bonus unlockables, cheers!
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьHi Sean. Thanks for the video. One question - What's the difference between True Peak and Integrated LUFS?
ОтветитьGREAT video Sean, thank you. Quick question.... I am trying to set the levels on drum sample patches for live use, trying to get them all as unified in level as possible so they dont jump out of the FOH and monitor mixes... What way of measureing would you recommend before tweaking the output levels accodingly?
ОтветитьCould you use a true peak meter to gain stage each track?
ОтветитьCan you use a lufs peak loudness meter, like the “Waves WLM loudness meter” for gain staging before and after your plugins?
ОтветитьMe too!
ОтветитьHow does it look like in GarageBand?
Because I assume you are using Logic Pro.
good video
ОтветитьSo whats the standard you would want to have your
lufs, peak, rms and dr for most songs?
My problem is when i finish producing & mastering my song at the average of -14LUFS and comparing my track to my references song and also others songs , seems very quite and very weak any solution!!!!!
Ответитьthank u
Ответитьyou rule! thank you!!!!!
Ответитьhi, i have a question, do you know some grafic plug ins, for, from protools, that give you RMS, LUFS and true peak, ass well as your plugins from logic, i really dont found plug ins like yours, plug ins that graficly are so god., THANKS
i love this videos
Thank you for this bro.
ОтветитьThat beat was talking to me.... WOW
Wish I could use it...
My Lufs is about 11 Long term, and my RMS is around 7.6. I used to master everything to be about -10 or -9. is -7 too loud? or should i stick with 11 Lufs?
ОтветитьGems
ОтветитьSir Please Reply the Question - How can I set the lowest true peak? in my case I target 0.1 But its always goes 2.5 DB, So tell how i can get lowest peak... Or 2.5 db peak is good or bad ? Please reply soon....
ОтветитьYour RMS after after the limiter has changed everything for me. I can finally settle on a mix that isn't perfect and be somewhat satisfied. This one of the most important mixing videos I've ever came across. I wish more mixers were as honest as you. Thank you, thank you and thank you. Devine is what your are dude. Peace!
ОтветитьWhen using the required criterion, the saturation does not determine the sound and the feeling of lack of sound level, what is the solution?
ОтветитьHow do I get to the loudest level without going over the required level?
ОтветитьIs that ozone 8 plugin free for download?
Ответитьseems like on the luf meter the M is almost like peak, and the S is almost like RMS....what do you think?
Ответитьdude great content and information, you broke this down really well and the track sounds dope!
ОтветитьLoudness is perceived. Very enlightening. Just the way that feeling warm or cool is arbitrary based on the relativity of our senses. Good lecture fam!
Ответитьcan you recommend a windows LUFs meterthat measures intergrated I don't own the same DAW
ОтветитьYour mastering tutorial with LPX plugins is one of my favourites. Thank you Sean.
ОтветитьYour voice calms me.
ОтветитьToo much blaaa blaaa to understand
ОтветитьIs there any paid plugin similar to the logic multimeter? I use FL Studio.
ОтветитьHi Sean, I burn a lot of music (50s through to the 80s) and use Adobe Audition CS6. -16 LUFS is the setting I'm using at the moment and the playback volumes seem relatively consistent but occasionally a song in certain places within that song may sound a little loud and also it can go the other way and a song may sound quieter than the others. If you were doing what I'm doing is there any advice on how to improve my way of doing things or am I doing things wrong (or right)?
ОтветитьGreat vid thanks. Still not sure I understand what should I look for or what number to target the RMS for (when producing and mixing, not for mastering if it makes any sense)
ОтветитьAt what number/level should the voice be hitting
Ответить
