Today its time for another tradition in our family and you are soo welcome to come along when we bake gingerbread together with my mother. It's the first Advent today and I thought I'd set up a really lovely coffee table. Every Christmas Mr.C and I go to Gothenburg and do Christmas shopping, since a big city always has a little more to offer and then it's nice to walk around in charming Gothenburg. Finally we take a look at what we bought for ourselves in Gothenburg.

Grandma Greta's gingerbread cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 kg of sugar
3 dl syrup
1 egg
1/2 kg of butter
3 dl cream
2 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp ginger
1/2 tbsp ground cloves
1 tablespoon of bicarbonate
1.3 – 1.5 kg of flour

This is how I do it:
Mix 1 kg of flour with bicarbonate
Finely distribute the butter in the flour
Whip the cream until stiff foam
Add sugar, syrup, the spices and the egg to the cream
Work the cream into the flour mixture until it forms a fine dough
Add more flour if needed
Place the firm dough on a plate
Leave in the fridge for at least 1 day, preferably more
Heat the oven to 200 degrees
Roll out a portion of the dough and leave the rest of the dough in the fridge
Punch out hearts, stars, or what you have
Place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Bake in the oven for about 5-6 minutes, keep an eye so the gingerbread cookies don't burn.
Let cool


RUDOLPHs CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH TRUFFLES
Ingredients:
150 g of butter
3 dl sugar
1 3/4 dl flour
6 tablespoons of cocoa
3 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
1 tsp salt
3 eggs
50 g chopped white chocolate
Cocoa to break the mold
Truffle
100 g dark chocolate
1 dl whipping cream
1 tablespoon honey
25 g room temperature butter

Decoration:
Salty sticks
White chocolate buttons
Melted Chocolate
Jelly raspberry

THIS IS HOW I DO IT
Set the oven to 175 degrees
Melt the butter
Grease and coat the mold with cocoa
Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, vanilla sugar and salt in a bowl
Pour in the melted butter and stir
Stir in one egg at a time and stir well
Pour the chopped white chocolate into the mixture and stir
Pour the batter into the cake pan
Bake in the lower part of the oven for about 15 minutes depending on the oven temperature (the cake should be sticky)
Let cool
Chop the chocolate for the truffle and place in a bowl.
Heat the whipped cream and honey
Remove from the plate just as it starts to boil.
Pour over the chocolate.
Stir until the chocolate has melted
Stir in the butter a little at a time and stir well so that all the butter melts.
Then let the truffle cool at room temperature
Spread the truffle over the cake
Cut the scratch cake into "pie pieces"
Split salty sticks and put as horns
Place two white chocolate buttons as eyes
Take some of the truffle and click on the white chocolate buttons so they resemble eyes
Press a jelly raspberry into it as a nose
Serve as is or with lightly whipped cream
