There have been other Grey Jedi. What they aren't is divided between Light and Dark.
They do follow the Light. They are also realists and don't conform to any order's standards. They follow only the dictates of the Force itself.
Qui-Gon Jinn is probably the most popular Grey Jedi. But Luke, Leia and Ahsoka are all Grey Jedi as well.

Now I do agree Cal is very much a Grey Jedi.

Jedi were never 'pure' and 'good'. Cal did what Obi-Wan would've done in his place, or Yoda or Mace Windu. Killing is not their first option but it IS an option.
