Spotify isn't actually recommending songs I like. Its always similar artists with similar songs with similar lyrics and similar vibes but I don't actually like the song. If spotify suggests me 10 songs mmmmmmayybe ill like 1 or 2 but most of the time i just find myself frustrated wasting time listening jack ol not finding something tha clicks

Spotify... does not understand what I like. I would listen exclusively to Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, and Francis Poulenc as well as jazz standards, and it would still recommend me explicit rap music. So I stopped using it.

I find that Spotify is better for listening to music I know I like, while Pandora is better for recommending new music to me.

I don’t know what Spotify has done recently but it keep recommending the top 40 radio pop songs I HATE and as far as I know there’s no way to say “Hey I don’t want to listen to this junk” so I haven’t used Spotify for 2 or three months now.

Honestly for me I've found I have too wide a range for Spotify. I need it to let me see songs like the one I just listened to. Hell I use Spotify for sleeping most nights on one of the white noise Playlist so I'll often have 2-3 of my recommendations just be taken by songs that are white noise

Today spotify recommended playlist for me was funny... amongst some trance & techno music: Armin van buuren, Boris brejcha etc. They added morbid angel, Newsted & megadeth in the same playlist.. 😁 which I listen to.. but not the same genre.

Genres don't define music taste. Period. Genres are labels put on music for marketing them. Musicians don't categorize their own music as others label them. I will have both my favorite and most hated music bundled in the same genre or sub genre. Spotify does not serve music and it foes not pay the musicians doing the work. It is even worse than music pirating sites, at least those didn't lie.

Their algorithm isn't that good. Just because I like one song by an artist doesn't mean I like that artist, and just because I like one artist in a genre doesn't mean I like that genre. Their predictive ability for what I'll like in the future is essentially useless as well.

Spotify is terrible at suggesting music for me. Because my music is all over the place
