The Outer Worlds Four Years Later! (Review)

I have it on ps4. Now I have it on epic and the game is really entertaining. To bad I can only see the ship when it takes off and nothing else.

This game was such a huge disappointment

Eridanos is still one of my all-time favorite areas in gaming. That hotel, man, I spent hours just walking around without furthering the main quest because I was so enjoying the immersive quality of the environment. Not to mention the humorous storyline and NPCs.

Everyone says it’s so easy but I struggle with this game especially the dlc😭

I really enjoyed it but by the end I was like that’s it?! Felt like it ended way too early

i thought people were dissapointed with it but this really convinced me after the last few absolute sh*t bethesda games with starfailed, and fallout 4 and 76 which all s*cked I wanna finish Kingdom Come Deliverance and move onto this title!

The enhanced enviroment in the Spacer's Choice Edition is so much better than the original Standard Edition. I found exploration a chore when I played the game 4 years ago. But I recentlynplayed the Spacer's Choice edition and it was real fun.

Ok so I guess I live under a rock. I just noticed this game and passed it up before I realized it was by obsidian. I’m taking a second look. Huge fallout/morrowind fan for years. I might give this a whirl.

I'm replaying it right now, it's such a great and fun game. The Spacer's Choice Edition DLC was a mess when it was released but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they fixed all the problems with it, especially the performance issues. I'm currently playing at 1440p with Ultra settings and I get a solid 60 fps. That's with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. I can't wait for Outer Worlds 2, personally.

I have no idea how i passed this game 0.O

FNV is my all time fav and I really wanted to like outer worlds but the setting just falls flat for me. The corps are just not interesting and the worlds have an MMORPG bland feel to them. In FNV from the moment you walk out of Doc Mitchell's the battle of the dam looms over your head almost like its going to happen with or without you. Also the open world was so rich with subtle story telling, like tracing Ulysses path up until that finale confrontation. The best part of Outer worlds are the interactions but without an interesting world its not enough to hold the rest of the game up.

This was starfield was supposed to be storytelling and character development wise...

I just finished my second playthrough of this. Had the original on Steam, then got the updated Spacers Choice version free on Epic.

Couldn't you just raise the difficulty setting? I've learned to do this at the very beginning for any game with a choice of difficulty.

Brilliant game crap ending

I've got a mixed opinion on Outer Worlds. It's not as good as FNV and I feel it's lacking in a few areas such as lacking a lockpicking mini-game (might be due to copyright) and the guns felt like I had to pick up a new gun for every stage of the game. Dealing x amount of damage with numbers popping up on screen. I really loved the Iconoclast story arc, but otherwise I don't remember much else. My overall experience was positive but a little disappointed.

I hope the sequel gets more stuff. More options. And no more cuck simulators.

Going to try this one since number 2 is coming out this year. Idk if it is just me but I play games to get away from reality, not to see the politics mirrored in the game I am playing. I don't like it when games do this.

This game gets a lot of unwanted hate. IMO, to get the most out of it, go with a companion and dialogue build. You’ll get a true role playing experience out of it. When I first played, I came off of the stealth archer build in Skyrim so I wanted a stealthy sniper. Unfortunately, it seems that once you shoot at somebody, silently from a distance, all are alerted.

So certain builds just won’t work, but again, play a companion build and you’ll be happy.

I like this game but the spacer's choice edition on console needs sorting out bad performance and slow loading textures

I started the game a month ago and got stuck in a quest where I was supposed to kill some guys but couldn't because one of the NPC was visible on the map but couldn't find it. After 2 days of looking for it and no double-save guard, I delete the game and move on… too many games on my backload to waste time with a PS2 glitch…

Plus, the game is too easy: you put all stats on lock-picking and talking skills, and you do whatever you want…

completely forgot about this game lol

I loved it but it’s just too short. I completed the game in a single weekend vs other fallout/bioshock games that take weeks or months to complete. It’s not just the length though that makes those other games fun. In other types of these games you will play twenty to thirty hours building up your character into a high level total badass that you get to play as for the last half of the game for potentially hundreds of hours….but in outer worlds right when your character finally becomes a bad ass and the game really gets good…the game ends. The devs said that budget restrictions caused them to gut most of they originally planned out and what we got is only about 35-40% of what was actually planned.

Bought it at 30$ & id say it’s worth it for the story

What diffference does it make if the game came out four years ago or yesterday. if it's fun and you enjoy it who cares.

After just having seen the trailer for OW2 and hating it for the hectics and those over the top flashy colours, I was wondering about the first installment. The name was kinda familiar to me, but I just remembered I was not interested that much at the time.
But boy, your review really sparked me up for the game! Thanks for explaining very clearly what this game has to offer and what to expect!
