As a native Floridian, I sold my home and moving to Georgia. Florida is too expensive and over crowded. It’s not my Florida anymore.

What was in FL before Disney which also brough others for same reason, WEATHER for outdoor activities and then throw in the beaches which GA has little of compared to FL and not near as nice either. KEY item is WEATHER as GA still gets winter ice and snow compared to FL. For me I wouldn't live in FL for anything as it does get bad hurricanes for east and west, but they are rare.

I was born in Clearwater, graduated from UNF, but spent the majority of my life in the Atlanta conglomerated area. The biggest perk to Florida over Georgia is there is no state income tax and the cost of living in many area is much cheaper than the Atlanta area. The biggest perk to Georgia or Florida is you have more seasonality in the weather and the heat breaks faster in the Fall the further north you go. A lot of your choice in where you want to live is what is important to you. With A/C, a lot of people like living in Florida because it is generally less expensive to live there compared to the Atlanta area. I have friends who live in Macon and Savannah, but about half of the population in Georgia is in the Atlanta area.

I think Georgia struggles on a national scale to promote the diversity of natural settings that exist within the state. Florida will naturally beat out Georgia for amount of beachfront, but GA has almost every natural feature short of a desert or glacier that you can see. Love hiking and exploring waterfalls and canyons? Plenty in northwest and northeast GA. Want quiet time on a lake or river? Find one in almost every corner. Go explore one of the largest swamps in the world and still be only an hour from beaches that are not overcrowded with bars and condos.

Everyone is moving to Florida becuase the city of Jacksonville is a young cool city and the Jaguars are winning team again. Ocean river and the most parks than any city in The USA.

Us Floridians will make Pedoworld / Disney, Ft.Desantis.

Our real estate market in FL is out of control. The amount of people coming here is insane. We do not have the infrastructure in many of the growing areas to support the huge population increase in such a short amount of time. Not only do people like the weather (which is insane to me because its hot and humid as hell) but our state is less politically oppressive then many of the states people are leaving.

I find the weather in Florida utterly disgusting and it is almost entirely post-WW2, which means the entire thing is suburban, auto-dependent and filled with chains and parking lots.
