My best hack is just to eat foods that won't spike my blood sugar.. I test an hour after a meal if I'm unsure about the meal .. If i'm spiking... I know I either need to cut the portion size or eliminate that food from my diet all together! For example if I eat 1/2 cup of rice and I spike over 160-180 ish I might eat 1/4 cup next time .. or cut rice out of that meal and eat cauliflower instead.

Thank you for the tips! Are you using a green screen? Because at the beginning the background looked like the typical Brazilian vacation properly, then it switched to what were probably other locales. If so, very well done, imperceptible.

Thank you for your efforts and stuff you share with us. Highly appreciated

Diet is very difficult subject. There is probably only one thing we all can agree. Healthy diet is way to go…. But then one can argue what is healthy diet. Second thing we don’t disagree much is, ultra processed foods are things we should avoid.

Could you please check what many professionals and latest researches tell about saturated fat.

My all time best hacks have been….

I wanted to learn more about latest studies and research about diabetic and not only listen to the doctors with “old school knowledge”. Secondly In the beginning I calculated my macronutrients of my daily meals and then i just adjust some to lower certain carbs (simple carbs).

Then I simply followed my glucose level, kept simply diary to follow what worked fine and what did not for about 3-4 weeks. And the fact I started to do more exercise and weight lifts was a big factor. I followed also what impact it had on my glucose.

I learned to estimate what I can eat and how much without figuring out details but just by estimating carbs and quality of carbs

That was easy because I knew how to calculate nutrients which may not be easy for many. And today my low carb and high fat is about 50-80g of carbs. and when I go out for exercising I may have 100g, and it works fine.

I managed to drop my HgAc1 from 8% to 5.5% in 3 months without any medication ( except food and exercising).

I think I will continue what my diagnosing doctor told me 21 when he told me the news about my diagnosis of adult onset Type 1 diabetes. He said it is not about eliminating sugar from my diet as that is physically impossible, it is about control of sugar. He placed me on Lantus and some pills. He later took me off all of the pills as he said they weren't helping. He added Novalog and my A1C went down to 7.8 percent. Over the past year with the CGM added about 8 months ago my A1C has gone down to 7.0 percent. I think I am doing something right. I have a formula as to how much Novalog to add at meal time.

Dear T.O.TS, I have been watching your Channel very recently, I also been watch the "EXPERTS"!! channel regarding Type 2 Diabetes. With all honesty If I put all those so called EXPERTS advice and recommendations, I would will not only stop eating all together but this will drive me nuts!! To be honest the statements coming from the so called experts on the use of Cinnamon, apple Cider vinegar etc on the management and help reducing Glucose level is and nothing but LIE! sorry to say that but as far as I am concern it just doesn't work for me! I tried for such a long time to no result! Fruit raise blood sugar level, Carbs is the same, sugar is the same, legumes is also the same. And to add insult to injury even when I am fasting during the month of Ramadan (20 hours) My sugar level is around 9-10!!!! I tried to eat the salad and veg first I tried to drink the ACV before I go to bed and first thing in the morning to no avail! I tried the following sequence ACV followed by salad followed by low carbs meal and the sugar level is still high!!!! Now Depression had set-in slowly! The only thing that reduce my sugar level is eating very low carbs and salads! If I follow the fruit and high carbs diet my sugar level will explode!!!! I think all those Vegan diet recommendations is simply WRONG! I would love to eat just veges and high carbs plus fruit! but sadly that does not work in my case! Regards. PS I would love to see the physical example on how all those recommendation lower the BGL!

Greetings from Finland!
That´s the reason why in restaurants have green salad as starters. Also in Nordic countries we generaly eat salad before meal. I just didn´t know that it would reduce the bloodsugar spike. Generaly we have lot of fibers our breakfast as many eat oatmeal or ryebread.
Still we have lot of diabetes becouse too much of carbs generaly in many things we eat. Generaly we still have better situation than in US. We have better quality food and we make mostly everything from the scratch. No processed foods. Lucky for me my kids doesn´t even like processed foods and prefer home cooked foods.

When my wife was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, her doctor told her to eat a high animal protein low-carb diet. Her metformin dose kept increasing and she needed to start insulin after a few weeks. She then met a woman at a pregnancy support group who told her to try a whole food plant-based diet recommended by Dr Barnard from the physicians committee for responsible medicine. 8 days after switching to the whole food plant-based diet my wife went off the insulin and lowered her metformin dose. After one more week there was no more metformin and her gestational diabetes was gone. Sadly my wife went back to a high animal protein low-carb diet after having the baby. I follow a whole food plant-based diet now. I don't need coffee anymore, no more aches and pains, I have energy all day and I sleep the whole night through with no trouble falling asleep. Exercise is so much easier now too. My 3 children love that I can run and play with them and they are the ones who get tired out first. Thank you for saying this works for type 1 diabetes too. I take B12 daily and that's it. My labs and cholesterol levels are better than ever. I'm doing a whole food plant based diet for life.

Chill your rice in fridge for a day or longer. Do not freeze (but you can freeze for storage after that). Then reheat . About 30 points lower in BG rise. Even better results if you mix 1/4 black rice in with white rice.
