I admire Richard Branson very much. Ever since I bought Tubular Bells in 1973 and found out that he lived in a house boat. OK, he had rich parents (a bit like Stelios) but Boy did he use his advantage. Many people don't. Virgin is the best airline I have ever flown on. The cabin crew are the best and are always just cheeky enough, but not too much. Obviously well trained.
I flew to New York on a Laker Airlines "Skytrain" DC10 in 1973. Freddie Laker mentored Richard and helped him to take on B.A. because B.A. had tried the same dirty tricks on Laker who, at the time, only had 3 or 4 planes. Freddie was the man behind Branson and was his saviour.
I miss Virgin running the West Coast trains. God knows why they lost the contract to the complete sh*t show Avanti. The Virgin service from Preston to London Euston was excellent. Not so much with Avanti. Cancellations, lateness, high prices.

i met richard once years ago in his at the time new training centre in crawley i was electician i had to ask him what sockets he wanted in his office above the main entrance he was such a nice man he made me feel like i mattered and he was so down to earth he cared about my opinion he is a normal as me

You don't delegate because you don't trust yourself that you can't do it yourself. ..you deligate because you trust that person to achieve the outcome you are needing from them. IMO... Keeps you free to continue to be creative and productive yourself.
