READ: Hi! Update since this video was posted: I have since changed my prices on some services, my logo price is now in the mid-to high end price range for freelancers, because of demand on my services and the size of my platform. I recommend if you're starting out to stay in the lower $300-$400, but as you grow you can even double your prices, but that all comes with experience. Hope this helps!
Ответитьoh man, this video is kind of old but I'll ask anyway cause it just feels like a safe space 😅 does anyone have a reference on how much should I charge as a beginner freelancer for an Instagram package of 12 posts? (8 graphics + 4 simple reels). As a beginner I'm going for small businesses getting started. Btw, great video!
ОтветитьThis made me feel a lot better about charging $50 as my hourly rate. I was so unsure since it was on the higher end of the beginner freelance hourly rate, but I have worked at a few design and marketing agencies over the last few years, as well as getting my degree in graphic design (may 2023).
Ответитьbtw. $1000 is actually very low for logo design, as you don't sell a logo, you sell a visual identity with all that comes with it. $3500 to $5000 is much more reasonable for an experienced designer (like me). For larger companies this should easily go up to $10k!
ОтветитьFun fact: Kassa is Dutch for cash register, how fitting!
Ответитьthis video was so beautiful.. you are such a sweet hearted person and i hope you succeed in all your endeavors
ОтветитьSuper easy to get taken advantage of in this profession
Ответить$200 is way too low.
ОтветитьThank you for the series of freelancing ... I wanna ask you...should we send a proposal before we send a contract
Ответить$200-300 for a logo is really undercharging! See the value you bring to a business. For example, a simple white shirt is worth $5, while a simple white shirt with a Nike logo on it is worth $40. I think the starting price for a logo is around $800 and if the client is not interested, change your targeted industry to find clients who will see your value :)
Ответитьthank youuuuu i really loved the video!! i love ALL of them🥺 kisses from Argentina 🇦🇷🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
ОтветитьGuys, I'm a Brazilian designer and I want to do work for foreigners. My question is what the average price for 1 flyer? And for 1 social media project?
ОтветитьThank you so much buddy😊 very useful to me
ОтветитьThankyou. You are awesome...
Ответитьso very helpful! also, unrelated but we kind of look alike. The more I was watching you the more I was kinda weirded out because it was like looking at myself a bit lol
ОтветитьLove this video but I think you could charge much more for a logo even starting out. I’ve learned to never go below $1,000 for a logo but most designers I know charge $2,000-$5,000+
ОтветитьHi Paula, this series is so honest and helpful. Thank you so much!! Can I ask have u ever came across client that doesn't want to pay after receiving the artwork, saying that they are not satisfied? how did you deal with it? thank you, appreciate a lot!
ОтветитьAmazing advice, I'll be more strict with my prices and stop giving price cuts or discounts
Ответить*RAISES HAND ✋ hi yes ! Lol 😆 me in class
ОтветитьYour a life saver 😁
ОтветитьI did my first logo design for $70, but watching was just making me think of how much I actually could’ve made LOL!! Anyway going back to what you were saying about taking it as you go, that’s definitely something I’ve been working on. Extremely helpful and encouraging video!! 🙌🏼💯😊
ОтветитьGirl, you’re becoming my virtual mentor and I THANK YOU for that! ♥️
ОтветитьHi Paola! Love the series :) Question-- when a client agree to a logo with two rounds of revisions, what happens when they are still unhappy with the design after the second round of revisions? Do you then charge them more to make changes? I've run into agreeing to a price up front but then I end up doing WAY more work than I thought because I didn't set the number of revisions in stone, but I was hesitant to do so because it seems unrealistic that they will be satisfied after only two revisions. Appreciate any advice!
ОтветитьSending this to my family who keeps asking for full branding, websites, and social media for free
Ответитьmy friends and family and people around my small town ask for me to design things for free since they think it’s my “hobby”. no i have a bachelors degree in graphic design it is more than my hobby!!!!
ОтветитьDon’t you think your logo design prices are too low?
ОтветитьWait, you charge less for a logo than a business card? Girl, you need to charge more. A GOOD logo takes proper time. You're charging much, much too low.
ОтветитьThank you!! Honestly
ОтветитьReally helpful tips...highly appreciated.
ОтветитьThanks for making these videos! I’m starting my own freelance side business and these are extremely helpful. I was just wondering when you say rounds of revisions for logos ab how many logo revisions do you typically do for each round? I tend to get caught up in making changes and doing so much that it eventually becomes something totally different and I feel like that’s just taking a lot of time.
ОтветитьHiii. I love you so much for your series. Okay, byyyeeee😅❤
ОтветитьWould it be okay to make a free poster for someone who isn't making money off their project that they'd need a poster for? (say a student project or a student film?)
This person and I are both students but he's studying film and I'm studying design.
This was INCREDIBLY helpful!!!! Im really just starting out and I guess every client I’ve had I’ve undercharged 😢 it really is a learning process and you’ve helped me tremendously
ОтветитьYou really understood me 😄 We are so much alike. Freelance Graphic Designer's life Huh 🤷♂️😉 Keep up the good work. 👍 Really helpful.
Ответить“They think it’s easy, and should be done quickly and practically free”. My response getting all heated to those of that logic: THEN MAKE IT YOURSELF IF ITS SO EASY! Hahaha. Bless you for your videos! 🧡🧡
Ответитьoh my god! me selling logos for $50 and cards for $30 👁👄👁 I’m just starting out and i’m should have found these videos first! but thank you so much for all the helpful information! i just started watching this series and i’m learning more and more each video. i’m so thankful💗 i’m only 16 but i take a quite a few design classes at my school using indesign and illustrator :)
Ответитьthis was vary helpful advice for a beginner thank you so much it was a good reality check for a new freelance business owner
Ответитьthank you! I'm studying communication design and I want to become a freelancer soon to get some money for my study costs. And your words help me so much to remind, that I shouldn't undersell myself. Thank you <3
ОтветитьIm a high school senior who is passionate about graphic design. I pride myself on my work honestly, but I don't know if I have the "right" to charge that much money for my work, even when it really professionally done and great, just because I didn't take degrees and stuff. Any advice?
Ответитьnot me charging only 15$ for a logo design..... damn i really have to get it together
ОтветитьGreat content on freelancing! Hit me up if you wanna do a collab video :)
ОтветитьGood data for those designers starting out. Thanks for adding this value.
Ответитьawesome vid!
ОтветитьWill you be making more videos like this? This transparent and freaking HELPFUL? BECAUSE I WANT ALL MY ARTIST FRIENDS TO SUB TO U BCS WE ALL NEED THIS TYPE OF HELP AND INFORMATION. THANK YOU PAOLA
Ответитьcould you do a video over your portfolio and what is in it and why? I am working my way through all of these episodes and I just LOVE your website I can't even tell you!!!
ОтветитьHi Paola, very informative video and it's great to see what other freelancers charge. I do think you're undervaluing your services by quite a bit. I'm definitely not "seasoned" but I do charge $1,500 for a logo design, and I know there are some firms out there that charge even $20,000 for a logo design. If you're a young designer, all it takes is a bit of confidence when talking to your client and if it's a client that really wants to work with you, they'll find the money. Great video! I subbed.
ОтветитьThis was sooooo Helpfull. Thank you for being so open and sharing !
ОтветитьThis entire series has been so helpful!
ОтветитьAmazing video!!
How many hours do you work for a logo, a brand identity and illustration?
I feel like I am rushing thinking a client will not offer me a good deadline
JUST found your channel. I am not a Designer but I want to have a Photography/Videography business and there are so many tips and tricks here that I can use for photo/video, that can be used for much more than just Design! Thank you!
