Would be strange if this car would be the ultimate track car. Its a daily driver, which also can be used on a track when wifey is away on a weekend holiday...

the brakes upgrades have nothing to do with rpm and top speed, that's due to a firmware upgrade. The only thing you get with lighter rotors is more acceleration due to lower rotational inertia.

The thing that sucks: This car will get you kicked out of the track.
Anything this fast is supposed to have a certified roll cage, the moment you get your slip, they will tell you to leave and not come back until you have a cage.
The thing that sucks about THAT: Elon swears these cars have crazy high crush strength and don't need a cage. He claims you could stack them ten cars high.

Clarkson's top gear will never exist again, and it was so terrible when they put on new people and it was so obvious they were trying to be like Clarkson version. I hated it and haven't watched it since. But this guy I feel is the first person who isn't trying to be like the Clarkson version. Dude is just being himself.

FINALLY someone that rates a Tesla for what it is, and not what would get you the most views (hate)

Those are great cars, all around, you can go get your groceries AND beat 99.99% of the cars on the road, while being completely silent. Try doing that with a Chiron, oh wait, first, try to get a Chiron.

Today we have Ferraris that are slower, more expansive, with less options than a Tesla, that probably do as much range as Teslas, with fewer cargo space AND inside space.

And yet some people just don't see all of this and are just like "yEaH bUt iT mAkEs No SoUnD", as if a car was only determined by it's engine.

Thats what I like about my normal Tesla model 3 : being able to just smoke most cars on the road, while having great comfort, being able to go to work/vacations with my family, no noisy engine, everythign heated, a big ass screen with netflix on it, well, definitively better than the audi TT I wanted to buy. So far I'm not regretting anything

Why did it take so long to have a proper track review of the Plaid? It's been out for 2 years. Best review yet.

Ответить
@sorka95032
@sorka95032 - 21.09.2023 03:14

The reason it has the same range is because the claimed EPA wh/mile efficiency is a lot more than the previous P100D. The battery is actually about 4 kwh smaller in capacity which is why it's lighter.

Just to be fair and to compare apples to apples. Any other ICE car at that speed with a 12 gallon tank will also run out of gas in about 25 minutes.

The seats are horrible for track driving. Literally no side support for the performance. "Track Package" without any change in the seats is just hidious. Performance is insane.

Round steering wheel stiching was already undone in a test drive car I had with 8200km on the odometer. That center console storage lid covers rattled on the drive. Materials are nice, but the fit and finish still lack a little.

A great car for all of us who take our vehicles to the track 2 or 3 times a week, absolutely pointless for the other 99.9999% of us who only ever drive on roads where the maximum speed limit is 70mph.

What brakes does the regular Plaid have. I was told by the dealer the 23 plaid has the carbon ceramic rotors on it.
I asked can I still upgrade to the track pack and the said I get the whed and software. You already get the brakes???
True or false

In 2021, when Tesla first came out with the car, Elon Musk said Tesla's Model S Plaid was going to the Nuhrburgring to set a new lap record for a sedan. We've yet to hear a peep again on that from Musk or Tesla. We can presume they tried (probably multiple times) and failed.

The Nuhrburgring record for a sedan remains 7min 18.3sec, by the 592bhp Jaguar XE SV Project 8, set in 2019.
