Reminds me of "Hi Ren". I KNOW that David Hasselhoff did it ages ago, but Ren's performance is the one I have seen first.

So awful. David Hasselhoff ruined every futer chance for this musical. Talented men embodied this role. He killed it.

Someone's complaining with his singing? What???

This is just insane vocal range and accent

In all fairness, David’s singing is much better throughout the entirety of the show. Im not surprised this was the song where he sacrificed vocals for performance. That being said, this is the most emotionally invested performance of this song I have seen in the context of his entire performance throughout the duration of the show.

After finding this gem, I'm hyped to get obsessed with this musical

What I find interesting is that Hasselhoff's singing is fairly weak at the beginning, almost just spoken word, but by the crescendo of the last verse his singing (as both Jekyll and as Hyde) is much stronger.

His acting really is what sells it though, especially the sing-song "I'll see you there Jekyll", it is almost dripping with more malice than other portrayals of Hyde.

I imagine myself as those characters.

People can say whatever they want but I think David was brilliant in this role, I can't imagine other actor playing Jekyll and Hyde

Many have argued his performance was less than stellar, especially when it's compared to Warlow's... yeah, Warlow did his in a recording booth, taking breaks and very obviously doing both parts separately (you can hear them overlap many times); Hoff did it after almost two hours of playing, on the spot, at a faster tempo, acting both parts at lightning speed! Of course it isn't perfect, live performance doesn't have the luxury to be refined in post-production.
Honestly, Hoff did a damn good job at portraiting the struggle, big kudos to him

My little brother wanted to do this as his final musical at his school, he was so excited to do it to, he definitely would have gotten the main roll (granted no one really wanted to do theatre at the school, no one liked the teacher) but they ended up doing Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown. He was Charlie Brown

I thought David was great as Jekyll & Hyde, honestly... he portrayed the battle between Jekyll & Hyde great, seamlessly transforming into both characters... not to mention, having to do the entire play in a 3-piece suit under sweltering hot stage-lights... I cant imagine the type of dedication he put into this whole show

How do I get so much gender envy from both Jekyll and Hyde!??!?! I'm a mezzo soprano and I've been working so hard on expanding my lower range just for this song 😝😝

What are some people on saying they like someone elses version better? NOBODY does it better. They either don't hit notes correctly, are not portraying enough emotions, they make no difference between the voices or all of the above. This man is brilliant. This could be easily the most impressive song ever sung.
