Do you know that the entire backdrop scene with those soldiers was hand painted

Incredible how this whole scene minus the Emperor, his guards, ship and Vader was hand drawn. All those soldiers were painted. 🤯

Just found out that most of the stormtroopers in the initial scene were painted. Pretty crazy, but you can kinda tell if you look closely at them.

I find moments like this even more interesting after knowing the prequels and other canon material. Vader was fuming with hatred for the emperor here. He always wanted to kill his master. That’s what fueled his power.

I've just noticed that the emperor has a parade of TIEs flying outside the hangar to mark his arrival too. It's not traffic, it's a full on parade. That's pretty neat.

Is no one going to talk about the shuttle pilot? He had the single most stressful job in the galaxy. Imagine that your transporting: The Emperor, his advisors and his Imperial Guards. Let's hope the pay was good.

I find it interesting that Vader's breathing gets heavier and quicker when he sees palpatine.
