Zum Glück dirigierte Maestro mit der Partitur! Sehr gute Entscheidung.

Passata l'era dell'ubriacatura pseudo-filologica, adesso è il momento di cercare nuove prospettive interpretative ad ogni costo, anche se l'esito di tale ricerca dovesse cozzare con lo sprito e la lettera della partitura. Ha un modo molto personale di dare la battuta, comprensibile solo dall'orchestra con cui ha provato. L' Andante con moto è un movimento lirico, i toni marziali sono fuori luogo, le note nei "forte" sono tenute male, troppo brevi, non è una marcia. Nel Trio dello Scherzo molte note "mangiate" dai bassi, una maggiore accuratezza nella concertazione non avrebbe guastato. Il pianissimo pizzicato della ripresa dello Scherzo dovrebbe essere, appunto, un pianissimo, non un mezzo-forte. Transizione all'Allegro del IV movimento di scadente fattura. Complessivamente una prova non bellissima. Agogica del IV movimento trascurata. I "ff" scritti da Beethoven quasi sempre ignorati e trasformati in "mf". Se la si vuole a tutti i costi osannare perchè è una donna non si fa un bel servizio all'Arte e all'Autore (che si rivolta nella tomba).

The most nuanced performance of this symphony. Dynamics and details superb. Only lacks sufficient power in the big moments.

Bravo! Tillykke! Gratulerer! I expected something special from Fru Stutzmann and she did not disappoint me! This small Norwegian orchestra was so obviously well rehearsed, they knew everything she wanted from them and they gave it to her with sheer precision! It is the most highly articulated orchestral performance of any Beethoven I have heard in a long time. The sforzandi, nuanced dynamic changes, voicing of the counter harmonies and melodies, the coordinated aggressive bowing in the strings, and the conductor's sometimes surprising changes in tempi made for the most exhilarating, driven, climax-oriented Beetoven's 5th I can remember. A true diamond in the wealth of Beethoven's recorded works!

Ca me fait mal de critiquer une de mes "chouchoutes", Nathalie Stutzmann, mais si, pour moi, elle a tout compris pour Bach, pour Beethoven elle a encore du chemin à faire. Non pas que cette 5e soit mal dirigée, mais en moins de 10 secondes on a envie de raccrocher les gants. Ce tempo du 1er mouvement...Pffft! Mais qu'est ce qu'ils ont tous à courir comme cela? On a bien le temps non? Je me demande si tous ces chefs et cheffes écoutent ce qu'ils produisent. Ou s'ils enchaînent commandes sur commandes...Un peu de pitié pour les musiciens également. C'est pourtant flagrant qu'ils "parent au plus pressé" et qu'ils peinent à suivre un tel TGV. Bref, tout au long de cette immortelle symphonie j'ai le sentiment désagréable que c'est la panique et le stress qui prennent le pas sur la sérénité, la grandeur et la plénitude! Erbarme dich!
