Yes the shell with the hole is abalone. In NZ it is called Paua and used to make lovely jewellery.
ОтветитьI’m from America, so just want to know what’s the deal with the pins? Are they sewing pins? Tailor pins? What’s the significance? I
Iike them, but want to know the importance of them.
Congratulations on the ring
ОтветитьI wonder why there are so many pins?
Ответить🤩🤩💜
ОтветитьSuch beautiful finds from the Thames ❤❤❤them. Thank you so much for sharing 😊😊😊
Oh it's sad that you guys may go back into lockdown. I wish this aweful COVID would go away ☹ stay safe lovely ladies 😊
Just passing by.. thought I'd subscribe! Love mudlarking vids and your in my collection now! 👍
ОтветитьHello Mudlarking with K and C's! The Northern Mudlarkers sent me over here. Your garnets and other pretties are wonderful finds.
ОтветитьI'm not sure, but I think the ring looks like a morning ring. Or it's that color from being in the water for so long. It's old for sure.
ОтветитьLove the garnets! They are my birthstone. So many ideas going through my head for jewelry looking at all of your finds!
ОтветитьWhat has happened to Kates wellingtons!, she was very stylish in her yellow wellingtons!?.
ОтветитьWonderful finds! On the mother of pearl, they make wind chimes from them, inlay jewelry, and the American indian did and still make bird fetishes for jewelry and garments, If you had a dremmel and a file they can be very easily made and I always loved them. or you can put small hole on the sides, use jumper ringer to make bracelets n such. Love the garnets! I wonder if the crimp ball finding they use in jewelry could hold them may have to glue them in but would make nice earrings and dangle for bracelets!
ОтветитьHow could you go there without us !! Lol I feel like I walked over all of those goodies ..... great finds really exciting things
ОтветитьLovely finds Ladies!!!!
ОтветитьIn some (cant remember witch ones) countries mother of pearl is banned cause the shellfish is getting indangered as a spieces. So now they make the material a faux.
ОтветитьBeautiful love old staff and your videos make me so relaxing thanx you sheare with as🤗
ОтветитьThe mother of pearl piece with the hole is abalone shell. Native to South Africa and Canada's Pacific coast. The abalone animal has 6 eyes that protrude through those holes on stalks, like a snail's eyes.
ОтветитьI know I have watched this a bit late, oooh I love you two for giving me so much pleasure throughout the year. I know its lockdown but everyone needs to exercise its a shame there are nowhere near to go to. Is the bottle dump too far away from you ? I just don't want to stop looking forward to your videos. Craft is a wonderful way to spend time as you are both very creative with your ideas. Keep well, Love and Light 😀🤗😘
ОтветитьThe shell with the hole is abalone.
ОтветитьIt's worth a repeated warning that sanding, drilling, or cutting shell can be very dangerous to your health. The dust is extremely sharp and will cause lung scarring. Please do some research if you do decide to shape these pieces. They are really beautiful and can be wire wrapped or glued onto findings from which they can be suspended.
ОтветитьI keep yelling where is your cup Or little bag for those beads??? 😂😂
ОтветитьThe Mother of pearl coloured with the hole looks like a fish
ОтветитьThe piece with the hole in it is a abalone shell beautiful rainbow colors in it. Will make beautiful jewery I have many pieces myself and two whole abalone shells I love them.
ОтветитьYou know silver is not magnetic nor gold but as dark as it is not gold maybe sterling or copper .
Ответить"In my opinion,they are being blessed,perhaps long due . . .they had this coming;GOD bless their soul's.1--15--2021'
ОтветитьWow loads of lovely old garnets well done on the Tudor pins
ОтветитьYou should carry small plastic ptescription bottles for those tiny stones and pins. No added weight to your bags.
ОтветитьLove the mother of pearl and carnival glass and of course the lovely garnets
ОтветитьLove your videos. And your cool.
ОтветитьI read down a bit to see if anyone said anything about the hook and blobby thingy. I think it is a finger-mounted cigarette holder. Oddly, they would wear it like a ring and insert the cigarette on top of a length of brass so their fingers didn't get burned or yellowed from tobacco use. These were popular in the very early 1900s.
ОтветитьDid yall ever find out anything on the ring?
ОтветитьThe abalony needs a garnet in the hole, would be beautiful as a necklass. I love the ring! You two are the best! Your voices are so soft and comforting. Thank you!
Ответить👍🏽
ОтветитьHope you kept the key. You have a kid. :-)
Ответить"Come for the pins, stay for the garnets", 😆! Brilliant 👏!!
ОтветитьUpdate on the ring?? 🤩👀
ОтветитьThe shell with the hole is Abalone shell.
ОтветитьI hope you picked up all the garnets you could. They will come in handy in a future project !!
ОтветитьSunny says he is a great find, too. I love all the garnets and mother of pearl. That ring, wow! What a great lark. Thanks once again for sharing your adventure.
ОтветитьThe piece of shell that has the hole and is in colors of blues and greens, is a piece of abalone shell. In California, we have these shell fish.
ОтветитьWhere is that beautiful gem she picked up first?
ОтветитьI realize this is a year old, but abalone have those holes naturally.
ОтветитьI’m late to the video having just recently discovered you-Did you ever find information regarding your ring??
ОтветитьIsn’t the mother of pearl actually from sea shells?? I just went to Michigan and found some of the same stuff and it’s all broken seashell! None the less everything is so beautiful! I hope one day soon to come to your neck of the world 🌎 to go mudlarking! It’s a bucket list :) planning for next year!!! ❤️🙏
ОтветитьWonderful lark. Well its always a wonderful lark.
ОтветитьBeautiful finds and beautiful music as usual
ОтветитьThat little coppery hook you found could be used for a pot holder in the fireplace of your miniature Victorian doll house!!
ОтветитьBeautiful garnets n that shell with the hole in is gorgeous.
