How long did it take for the latex to dry? Maybe I missed it in the video 🤔

So... Would something like this work on solid plastic? Like let's say I wanted to make a latex Lego mold.

Hello.Thanks.
i have a few questions.
1- I saw people who first put 10 layers of latex on the object and then mix the latex with silica to make it a little thick and then put it on the mold. Is this correct? Or will the use of silica in the latex create problems for the latex mold?
2- I mostly saw that latex molds are mostly used in concrete and plaster sculptures. Is it possible to cast materials such as polyester or polyurethane in latex molds? Some people say that the latex mold is damaged by polyester and polyurethane materials? is it true?
Thanks alot.

We are told always told to do many thin coats. As much as 30. So each layer can dry.

How would a very thick coat up to 1/4" dry properly ? And how much shrinkage ?

Why do people take sooooo much time doing 30 plus coats instead of one thick one if it works ?

Thanks

So do you just pour the unused back into the bucket? Can you use this on a glass cup for 3 D if you leave it in there longer? ... So sorry for all the questions, I have just been geared towards silicone molds and am hoping this is a lot cheaper:)

what kind of latex did you use? I'm trying to make a latex mold of a plaster hand as well. I have a deceased friend who made just one plaster mold of her hand before she passed....but now I need to replicate it 4 more times! I have no idea how to do this. Also wondering how hard it was to peel it off of the plaster? This hand is in the "I love you" sign and Im nervous to break off fingers

I came across this channel by searching for wiper motor wiring and after watching that recording I flicked through the channel library and I am very impressed with what I see.
Whilst the uploads are far too techy for my basic brain (electrics, computers etc) I can grasp certain things and I will gain a lot from many of the recordings.
I am very happy to have found you and I have subbed.
Best wishes 👍

Extra possible tip, not sure if it works for your molds but in industrial manufacturing they get the gloves of their molds by using a compressed air jet under the wrist area and the air puffs out the glove and shoots it of the mold, simple shop air compressor should do the same thing. if anybody thinking of giving the gloves a go id love to know if it works, it's how they get the speed up in factories mass manufacturing them but I believe they use metal hands so the friction coefficients may be different.

That could be really useful. I hate handling DCM, because it penetrates layers so easily, and because thick gloves fit so terribly. With this, you could simply mix your own custom, composite PPE, or even add tear or heat resistant materials wherever you want them.

Thanks Robert for the information about Latex Rubber. "Question" I asked this question in an earlier Video of yours and you didn't respond, so I'm asking it again. Would you do a Video on (POWER PASTE)? The paste has incorporated into the mix (MAGNISIUM). This paste is used in the production of (HYDROGEN GAS) so it could replace Gasoline and Diesel as a Fuel. I was hoping you'd do a Video showing the make up of this paste and how it could be made at home for the same purpose. Would you do this Video? Again thanks for sharing your knowledge with me.

I was just watching the Twitch VOD and am about half way through. It’s so intriguing to see both sides of these videos. I hope this helps your friend manufacture his own custom items. ✌️😁👍 Ps About the anonymous complaint issue. It’s been a common thing on Twitch for people to “call in” to stop people doing things on stream. It has been a game of cat and mouse for some. People have been asked to shut their streams down locally or been threatened to have their stream channel banned after “callers” have done their business. Some callers were attempting to get some streamers in Japan deported in an attempt to ruin the streamers livelihood and lives there. As you said on stream, it’s the thin part of the bell curve, but it happens unfortunately with live broadcasts.

Extremely cool, thank you very much Rob. I wish I had known this year's ago. I could easily make multi use gloves by soaking for an hour.
I can see people saving money at the adult store with similar techniques. Gypsum would replace the alginate in these uses, lol.

Great for making chess sets of which I've done loads using Styrene Resin & pigments/metal powder fillers. RTV/Silicone sealant is also great for making moulds, there is a technique called butter up to make those work better. Bubbles are the main enemy!
