You forgot to name the more than 50 military interventions by England and the United States to subordinate Latin America to Anglo-Saxon interests and the Monroe doctrine that is still in force, at least if it does not favor American interests.among others, the Condor plan or how some presidents of certain governments were CIA agents, if you talk about history tell the truth and not a lie

Typical western approach: start from the conquest.

LA political history/issues start way before that. For instance, Inca rulers continued "living" (through a shaman, probably) even after death, thus they didn't lose their riches, possesions, political power, etc, and the new ruler had to kinda start from scratch to earn his right to rule... Sounds nice to some extent, but against a major power like the Spanish, that's bs tbh, it's another disadvantage to the list, lol.
And the Inca were a new empire in the region, meaning that the peoples they had conquered would have gladly supported any form of liberation, which they did when the Spanish arrived.
The inca resistance then fled to the mountains... and today is reflected in the eternal fight between coastal cities, mainly Lima, (whites and mestizos - right wing) and "everything else" (mestizos and natives - left wing).

The solution? Probably end exploitation caused by globalization, or return to monke.

Do not call it Latin America, this is the name giving to it by France. It is Hispanic America. The french hated they try to collapse empire for 300 years and failed over and over until Napoleon backstab the great Spanish people.

Good info, I feel like you need to segment it up more to help my brain retain the information dump. For example, you skip forward 300 years to Napoleon. Have a pause and a title card so my brain can recognize the time skip properly.

Maybe you should be more glib about India and Pakistan two countries that hate each other and have nuclear weapons, something that Latin America has worked hard to establish a nuclear weapon free zone - Mexico even won a Nobel peace prize for it. Yes, Latin America has problems, so does my country, but I have a feeling if there is going to be another world war it’s going to start in Asia or eastern Europe. Can’t wait to see how expensive it’s going to get for us tax payers 🇺🇸 yay, it’s going to be fun 🫠

Liked your presentation, the last part regarding El Salvador becoming authoritarian hahaha that was funny, the previous administration, FMLN, was authoritarian for 25 years (1992-2018), they police trained gangster to kill Salvi citizens. President Bukele is the most progressive president, if not the greatest President, El Salvador will ever have, make the comparison of the country's position in all aspects before and after his administration.

The education is spot on but only question to you is why as Hispanics keep using the term Latino/s. Latinos "we are not" unless your Greek, Italian, Romanian and such which spoke a dead language known and spoken by few in the world. This terminology continues to devide and confuse people in the present. We were conquered by the Spaniards and the Portuguese. The majority speak spanish and or Portuguese not latin. We are Hispanics of Spanish/Indian decent and or Portuguese/Indian. To make another commentary adjustment, The Aztecs were only known by that name during the spanish conquest the word Aztec is simply a word removed from the Nahualt language by the spanish to describe the indigenous people of Mexico the spanish word for Aztec is Guerrero and in English is worrior nothing more. Mexico got it name from the Indians that settled in Mexico city. The mejica were nomadic people originally from mexcaltitlan de uribe Nayarit Mexico whom left in search of the eagle eating a serpant. After 300 years of traveling as North as Canada the returned to Mexico only to find the eagle eating the serpant only this time on a cactus. The tribute of knowledge left of this history is found in Nayarit Mexico where the state flag holds evidence with tribute to the people. No other city town or state bears the privilege of the eagle with the serpant only without the cactus. No other municipality in Mexico has the name of origin other than the country as a whole. We as Hispanics should embrace each other not devide because of separation of country. In the end we are Spanish and Indian or Portuguese and Indian. I'm proud of both sides of my roots. I'm 24% Indian, 56% Spanish, and 10% Portuguese. Remember everyone history is not always as it is written. Stay educated love each other and progress in enhancing yourselves.

Hey El Prof, I’ve really enjoyed your series on Latin American history. Have you ever considered diving deep into specific and interesting moments.

An example might be events leading to the war between UK and Argentina, moments leading to the Cuban Revolution or why Fútbol is so popular in Latin America.

Keep up the great work and Best wishes!
