I've grown quite weary of this argument, because it's one that vegans will make constantly and consistently to people, that friends vs food is merely perception, and I've been vegan for a year.

Vegetables as vegetables is a bit too cliche and boring. Of course vegan and converted vegans don't just want to eat vegetables or only from one type of foods in the food pyramid but still want to eat their solid grilled patties or sausages simply from food flavours that is already available from plants. People already have ingredients to combine and form these wheat protein textured "meats". It doesn't have to involve another life or living being forcefully taken away after being maimed, broken or beaten inthose Concentration Camp like conditions. We need to stop this propaganda that meat from animals is food for our nourishment. We already have the food, flavours, herbs and spices from plants. We can see that textured "meats" from wheat or sit protein can be made from plants. It smells better without that dead animal rotting carcasses, purer with more nutrients from plants and reflects a more civilized way of eating because it did not involve violence and killing. We are not or are actually not meant to be predators. We just want delicious foods not violence at the back of our actions.

I myself as a non-vegan actually prefer potatoes than chicken or beef. I really actually don't need meat but I feel that society keeps force feeding that (concept) in me. I thought vegetables and ingredients derived from plants are healthier than (animal) meats.
