Donk shove 97K into a 20K pot. This is the kind of stuff people do at low stakes. Great laydown but Phil also let him off the hook with a suboptimal play.

I think Doug was 50/50 until he induced Phil into table talk. After that it became more of a 90/10 laydown to call, and that's how Doug makes one of the most badass laydowns I've ever seen.

Well, it´s not that easy. What you need to consider here is the fact, that Phil made a huge overbet (it´s even a 4-bet) and even if Doug has a Straight here Phil could have tons of outs. Doug just has the "down" Str8 and Phil can have a set, a flush draw, a 10 or a Q with a draw. I think the fact that Phil made this huge overbet made Doug fold his hand. If you analyse this hand and especially the betsize Dougs read was 100% correct and he made the correct fold. Of course it´s a great fold anyway!

He made an excellent fold. But 9/10 times that’s an insta call idc what anyone’s says. You have a straight. The seconds nuts. If he has it, he has it.

That might have been the worst table talk all around- first, the peanut gallery clowns at the end of the table not even involved in the hand and then Phil basically begging Polk to call

Some bad speech-play aside, let's give credit to Hellmuth. This is totally bizarre by him, intended to get Polk on tilt, and be impossible to read. And it nearly worked.

Phil is such a nit. He HAS a spade the only thing that could possibly beat him is a flush on that board. Unlikely they are even on a spade draw and he has a spade blocker. Could have stacked Doug here if he played all 3 streets.

One of my top five favorite bands! I think Doug would say this was a bad lay down in hind sight. Would guess that the equity pushed him to fold. But when you get jammed on and you beat all of the bluffs and you’re only beat by one of the value bets then you ship it off every time. Phil screwed up jamming on the flop. And then talking lol. Put $20k in there and then jam on the turn. Doug would’ve called it all off. Still a great hand.

Shoving 10x pot with the nuts is just a terrible, terrible play. You’re literally forcing any hand to fold. This is an auto-fold for any hand that isn’t the nuts.

Easy fold. Phil has a huge ego and would only shove all in with the nuts here. Can't risk looking foolish to try and win 13k. These guys are all afraid about how they're going to look on TV. Also Polk only loses very little by folding and patiently waiting for a different spot. The raise, while enticing makes no real sense. Why would Phil raise and risk so much just to win $13k? He has to have the nuts here.
