Do cheaper headphones stink?

i'd love to see a revisited version of this especially with the Koss KPH30i. i could imagine the comments on those public library looking things.

I have M50x's and bought some SR850s aswell out of curiosity... honestly despite costing LESS THAN 1/3 as much they sound just as good OR BETTER. I mean they have slightly less bass but not a lot less (like if you really like bass, they're still good) but the mid-high's are even clearer! the only thins are you do get hot wearing them, they aren't as comfortable but they aren't terrible and of course they don't fold up but if you only use them in the house who cares, totally worth buying!

Gold plating is used on headphone connectors and switch contacts to prevent corrosion. Gold resists oxidation and corrosion better than other metals. Corrosion can cause signal loss and nonlinearity in analog connections.
Gold doesn't have an effect on sound quality. The amount of gold used in connectors is small. Some say that gold-plated connectors are a good choice if you plug and unplug your headphones often.

Wanted a Philips SHP9500 but was really tight in budget so I resorted to the SR850 and they did not disappoint! had them for about 10 months now

Ever since I got a pair of Sony sa 1000s, I basically expect 'good' headphones to be at least 20% as good or better. What people don't tell you, is most headphones are 'flavors' of sound. You have to find your taste in sound.

I noticed midfi headphones don't make perfect sounds, they make accurate sound, but bass or highs always seem to be a mixed bag. A good pair of headphones should be able to 'mess' with your perspective of trick your mind into adding 'depth' to the sound.

What I'd recommend based in price.

Beats studio 3- expensive but extremely cheap. They are flavored to appeal to 'bass heads' try them out to understand how a 300 usd headphone shouldn't sound. Under 60 usd its worth a gander.

SENNHIESER HD 4.50BTNC- easily found for under 50 usd, what you should get for great Bluetooth sound.

I remember buying Sennheiser HD206 twice before because they looked cool and "professional" as a kid but at the back of my mind I knew these sucked so much.
They had no volume, cables were flimsy and far too long and not to mention they DIED TWICE. But I got them anyway because they were "cool". What a mistake.

Buy cheap headphones?short answer don't buy it it is waste of your money those things will work for a few days Maybe a weeks.
Long answer. If you going a way for a day then you can buy it but if you gonna use them every day for going to school when sitting in a bus then no don't buy it buy those things online it maybe cost a bit more but it is worth your money.

I bought the Sennheiser HD 560S for half the MSRP on the second-hand market. It works but has no warranty and the previous owner lost its original box. Now to find a cheap DAC.

He has two modes. when hes dissappointed he talks slow but when hes impressed he talks faster. so the better somthing is the faster he will talk

cheapest headphones is Audio--Technica ATH-M50. Anything less simply is NOT a headphones.

if you think it's bad that the kangaroos on your money make it jump out of your pocket keep in mind USD has eagles on it, it flies out of ours.

I have a pair of mdr zx110s, and they seem to get a ton of extra sound range when they seal against my ears. I might have also turned down the bass by 2db in my equalizer settings.

Samson are legitimately awesome. I can afford better stuff now, but as a kid working a weekend job at a restaurant, their headphones and mics were fucking gold, especially during my YouTubing years.

i got those sony and they lasted a grand total of 3 months with absolute love and care, good sound though, good enough, now i got the skull candies slyr and no complains their, hope they last a bit more

i actually like headpones that have the cable going from either side, because all of the headphones that i ever owned i threw away just because the cable got so worn down from the joint moving

I used the Sony ones for a while but then I switched back to Sony MDRZX310L they are better atleast for me and they are around 16 bucks
