You should do a build for Wolverine :)
And I wanted to tell you, your guides for WOTR are still being watched and much appreciated!
you should pick bronze draconic bloodline because of the +1 to damage per die roll for electricity damage. silver gives +1 to cold damage
ОтветитьGetting ready to finally commit to a full playthrough and have been struggling to find a quality lightning build and I found your channel and this video is amazing! You also had a spreadsheet which is just sooo helpful THANK YOU SO MUCH
ОтветитьUsed a modified version of this build for my playthrough. less thematic but still fun. I went with acid focus instead of lightning, using the earth elemental bloodline ability to make spells do acid damage (so I can keep chain lightning) and then took copper dragon which is appropriate for my chaotic good azata as well as gives a bonus for acid damage. I had a fantastic time
ОтветитьReally don’t think this build can work on hard or unfair games, cuz the chain lightening need to beat their reflect dc to deal the whole damage. Yea, sure the azata may have some ability to increase their dc in end game but it’s end game… you don’t have much thing to do when you get those abilities. And this build in chapter 3 would be really horrible to play I believe
ОтветитьThis build is exactly what I was looking for! And I love storm from X-Men, she’s my favorite! Thank you!
ОтветитьYou know the point of the Elemental bloodlines is that you can turn ANY energy based damage into your preferred element right?
So when you are choosing your 6th level spells you have TWO extremely good damage spells available. Chain Lightning, and Hellfire Ray. Toggle your bloodline Arcana (which costs nothing) and that Hellfire Ray is converted to Electricity damage.
And that works for ALL spells the character casts, which is why I pretty much always dip Ember into crossblood sorcerer for one level, choosing Fire Elemental bloodline for the Arcana (which means she converts chain lightning into fire damage), and Gold dragon bloodline for the extra +1 damage per die damage bonus for fire based attacks (which works on the converted damage as well).
Yes, she loses a single level of caster level, but you can make that up with items anyway, there are several that add CL.
Thank you so much for this build. I'm having so much fun with this azata build with Ember in my unfair run.
ОтветитьWould have figured for her Omega status you'd take Overwhelming Mage; as it gives you spell pen +1 every 6 levels. Then maybe dipped fighter (storm is a capable martial combatant as well - as she has lost her powers and still been quite able to kick arse) for a bonus feat or two, to grab spell pen and greater spell pen. I'm also surprized you didn't take either snowball or shocking grasp over Magic Missle. Her powers are weather based, so it would fit better. There's also the fact she uses the wind to ride rather than fly, and she can call fog to hide her team; or shield them from environmental hazards, so she's not incapable as a "buffer" [Though I will say I agree she's better to use DPS for the actual Lore of her character] * Personally I found it a little too segregational that they put her with T'challa (Nothing against the characters, or black people with black people... but I never really felt that even from their comparative powers they were exactly right for each other. Logan I do like for her; because a: he's older than he looks so he's more intuitive, and b: he's not the ruler of a country - so he's less indomitable as far as challenging her. IE he'll just accept what she is and who she is. Rather than playing to the "goddess" bit that people mistakenly called her, or trying to change her status or make her conform to set standards - I really doubt she was okay with T'challa's legalized harem, * coughs * I mean bodyguards. Logan's animal side matches her elemental nature overall, better than T'Challa can BECAUSE he isn't JUST the Black Panther. He's first the King of Wakanda, and can't afford to be countermanded as often as her strong personality would have her do when she disagrees with him) Storm overall is probably one of the best written characters in the X-Men that not a lot of people talk about. I'm glad she's getting some love here man. Have a good day, and hope you don't take anything I've said here personal. It's not my intent. Just an opinion.
Ответитьdude, I don't know what I did wrong; i followed the build and your video, 2 times but there are abilities that you name in your docs sheet that don't appear to me, i'm barely lv 10.
Is it because they were removed or something?
For example I don't see "chain lighting" and the improvement of "scorching ray"
we need mods with more voices.
ОтветитьWhat a fun build! I'm going to play a version of this for my very first playthrough! Huge favor, where did you find that perfect portrait?? Thanks!
ОтветитьThinking of using this on my companion/merc. Is it still viable without mythic path?
ОтветитьI made a Slayer named Buffy. I just had to lol
ОтветитьIs this only for main characters?
ОтветитьIs the the strongest azata magic build?
ОтветитьThis looks like a...shockingly...awesome build. Time to give Strom a run around Golarion.
ОтветитьWhat kind of build did you employ for your companions in this particular game? Is it those you have already posted as videos on this channel like sword and board seelah ?
Just asking cause i'm trying this storm build given that i've never tried a mage azata and your lineup of companion is what i tend to use ( Usually more Daeran than Sosiel because by the time i get him i'm more invested in Daeran but otherwise pretty much the same)
WoW.... Azatha path is created for chain lighting....
I'm fire wizard azatha... But if chain lighting working with azatha talent on double spell that just awesome.
20d6+40 FROM bloodline+40 from metamagic. 240*2*1.5= 720 damage muhahahaha..... I hope respec don't break game LoL xD
I love this build will be my next play easily =) Good show sir!
ОтветитьYes - I AM having a Fantastic Day thanks to your excellent videos. Many thanks. That said - I think you've made a wrong assumption when answering about secondary blood lines. Although not in the description, they DO provide the bloodline arcana feat (at least, for dragons). Tested on 1.3.7d NO Mods. So, you do get the +1 damage per die. Certainly adds up when you start throwing out those ray and chain lightning spells.
In addition, you get the other ability to change any energy spell to cold - so you can get the Fire spells (e.g. Fireball and, of course, Hellfire Ray) to vary your damage diet.
But, it doesn't stop there, you could go for the Mythic Second Bloodline and, yep, add another dragon for +2 damage per die. So 20d6 Chain Ligtning doing +40 to everything it can reach - anybody like that? Maxed out Hellfire to the Boss for an instant +90 damage. Grandmaster quicken rod for +180 damage before you start any of the real stuff. Then there's Zippy Magic. Yep - works on that. At which point my head starts to hurt trying to work out how much you could reach.
i would have choose another dragon type instead of silver (cold). The blue dragon i believe give lightening damage. +1
ОтветитьI wonder how this works against bosses with evasion?
ОтветитьI wish you would put time stamps so when I level up I can go directly to the level I reached while playing
ОтветитьAnother great build video. I can never get enough of your pathfinder content.
Regarding the actual build, did you consider maybe going into Arcane Trickster? The sneak attack damage would make her rays hit even harder and as far as I know it affects chain lightning too.
This build is very similar to my own. Mine is an asimaar crossblooded with fire elemental and celestial bloodlines. Also he was Azata but later changed to Golden Dragon.
ОтветитьHi Slandered! Just found your channel, and I’m really digging these custom builds based on characters from other pop culture universes. I love the tidbits of canonical backstory you drop and how they impact every level’s decision-making.
Definitely subscribing, and I’m excited to see any more builds you send our way!
I really enjoy your build videos, but I wanted to give a special shoutout for using Storm as your avatar. Perfect fit and great look!
ОтветитьLove this. Once I finish my current Oracle Angel playthrough I think I'll do something similar.
ОтветитьLove the build, I've been doing an azata playthrough but I have had a hard time to decide what class to be!
ОтветитьSo from a mechanical standpoint since you get the bloodline arcana of your second bloodline taking blue dragon would be better or the metallic lightning one (bronze I think?)
ОтветитьStorm and Azaata you tailored this content for me huh 😏
ОтветитьThank you for sharing builds; it helps us keep ourselves out of an echo type chamber and try new things.
ОтветитьAs you said in the video, the pick of 2nd bloodline is up to everone themselves, though i would suggest for draconic blue as it gives bonus to electricity damage instead of cold what silver dragon does. Just for the people that want to get a bit of more ooomph out of the lightning spells. 😉
ОтветитьThere's just something special about "chain lightning". It's one of my favorite spells no matter what game it is in
ОтветитьFrom optimization point of view, I think human, half-elf, or aasimar would be better. +2 CHA > + 2 INT, and spell resistance is not that big a deal. A human can put their feat into Spell Penetration.
As an alternate take on the build - consider Monk (Scaled Fist) 1/Sorc (Silver Dragon/Water Elemental) 15/Dragon Disciple 4. At early levels you dump electric spells on people. At high levels you buff up with geniekind x 4, dracoform, and beat people to death with lightning/multielemental fists (claws)
>Storm
Obligatory copypasta!

“Finally, a cure for my chainsaw hands!” decreed Chainsaw-Hands Joe.
“There is no cure,” said Johnny Five-Dicks. “There’s nothing wrong with us.”
PC: "You know what happens to a demon when it's struck by my lightning?"
Demon: (Confused look).
PC: "The same thing that happens to everything else" [Casts maximised chain lightning (though use of Favoured Metamagic)].
More seriously, don't remember if I've said this before, but I love these 'thematic, character-based' builds that, while still effective, focus on emulating a character more than maximising 'deeps'.
Thanks so much for all the work you put into your builds. Absolutely blown away by the level of detail you provide. And you even have spreadsheets! wow dude, just wow!
ОтветитьSo next up, you can make a warrior with maybe a longspear and a panther companion to complete the set.
Ответитьgreat build concept and fun character
ОтветитьDo you have any tips on getting through the Shield Maze in the beginning on unfair? I can't seem to be able to do it. Love your WotR videos.
