Meanwhile, I checked out 3 different issues from Marvel and DC and all 3 opened up with pillow talk couples - One of which they chose to make into a gay man (Alan Green Lantern).
Comics needing to grow up has never been more of a pressing matter than nowadays.

I’m Cuban American & knew of Oesterheld because my grandpa collected comics. Netflix is making a live action version (I believe this year) & I’m sure your video will get millions of views.

Here in Italy, Argentina's comic are published in specific magazines: Skorpio amd Lanciostory, almost from 70s. The Eternaut was published in Lanciostory with a different layout of the panels.

matttt you are the best comics channel on this platform. I’ve always loved comics, but I never really got much deeper than what super hero comics had to offer. You’ve introduced not only to so much dope reading material, you gave me such incredible insight into the minds that brought those works to life. Can’t wait for the next video!

Oesterheld was my entry door to the comic books world. It's really sad, not only the way his life ended but the fact that the same extreme right people that he fought through his comics are now back in power by the vote of the people

To keep hearing people say 'comics are a low medium' still to this day saddens me. It's like not acknowledging comics have made an important impact in society throughout decades.

Most of the comic art of the 60s I’ve seen is mostly from American superhero and humor comics. The art from those comics looks very different from what I expected of comic art of the time, but in a good way. Those stories look beautiful and I hope they can get translated and given a wider release someday.

A hero. I would love to see a charity, scholarship, endowment, social action org, or award or something named after this guy that seeks out creators who continue his legacy. He needs to be remembered in some way as a true justice hero.

Never read his stuff, but the talent (and that of the artists) shines through. Especially for the time period. Let's be honest, that art work was decades ahead of it's time. That being said...... Creating a work that elevates Che Guevara? The idiot cult of personality around that monster infuriates me. Considering the era and oppression around Oesterheld and the propaganda around Che, one can look past it. Great video.... Will definitely check out his available work.

*Osterheld fights a dictatorship, sees his family killed, he got kidnaped, tortured and excecuted and his body is never recovered.
Nik: But... but... My Gaturro statue! You're harrassing me but we are more! T_T
(Great video, sorry for the dark joke, if someday you will do another one about a comic artist, please cover the Gaturro phenomena. ^^)

It's funny how the fascist attack Che for his crimes but yet, their own crimes are over the top insanely worse and over a much longer time period. As far as I know, Che never killed any innocent artist either.

I commend you for your work, this is a great video, although i don't agree with the praising of this guy who sacrificed his entire family for political extremism, was it worth it at the end? No political message are worth sacrificing your family for and he didn't regret it even on the end, he failed to protect his family and he was given many chances to do so this should have been called out.
